I hope this isn't a silly question, but do players on international duty get paid for playing for their respective countries?

 

For most footballers, they should have enough for playing for their individual clubs to cover the international period.

What do you expect? Inler will be on 50K a week at least. There is no wage cap. Vardy is on 42k a week

  

How do you know what Vardy is on?

According to this Daily Mail article he's actually on £45k a week.

I've heard from various sources that the players match fees from playing for England get donated to charity, don't know if it's the same for other nations though.

Match fees do and a few years ago rumour had it Beckham and a few senior players had an argument about win fees if we won a tournament and how far we got.

They wanted more as it was all going to player charities assume it is still the same every player names his cause and the money is paid direct.

Having a centre back as our top earner would have been suicide. Thank God he rejected us. If LCFC are gonna pay £60k plus a week it should be to a player that'll really improve us not a dodgy CB. QPR MK2... boswinga, Ferdinand anybody?

Why not? Renegotiated his contract at the start of the season. Touted as one of our best players who may have a big season, big teams like Arsenal have been sniffing around for a while...

40-45 seems more likely. I doubt his previous contract even broke £20k. I'll say it though, we're all just pissing in the wind.

Talking or even thinking about footballers wages makes me sick I have to block it out because its so obscene especially when you have the few that piss and moan on their £100k + Bonuses a week

I agree but then you look at how rich the top tennis/golf/basketball/nfl players are and it's all the same.

Right as City have never signed a bad winger or striker. Top earners at most clubs are strikers. But if a defender improves the team overall it wouldn't bother me.

I dont care how much the players are getting paid as long as they give 100% on the pitch week in week out and that we dont put our club into financial troubles!
