st albans fox Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Yes, his passing needs to improve but I love his energy, hassling and tackling of the opposition. He's still looks quite raw to me but with a lot of potential. He played one terrible pass across the centre circle and then ran 40 yards to tackle the player he gave it to. laughable but a shocking pass initially.

Thracian Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 In my humble opinion, our problem remains the same as the one we brought with us from the Championship - we are not good enough to defend for a whole 90mins and therefore do we go for the positive or do we try the classic away performance? Yesterday we started off positively and went for the throat - we were caught out by two mistakes and two good finishes for which we can have no complaint. The spirit of this side though is second to none and the way we came back was immense. I believe a 3-5-2 formation is my favoured one because a Was or Fuchs can support and look after Wes when he makes the very odd mistake. It also allows for two wide players 3 midfielders and Vardy with Mahrez. Just ;loving my club at the moment though - look forward to every game at the moment I've got no problem with Ranieri starting positively but whatever way he starts there has to be a degree of responsibility on the field. No manager could have planned for Morgan's mistake and while any full-back can be turned by a winger who knows a tackle's coming the irresponsibility there was not just DeLaet being reckless in diving in unnecessarily knowing that there was no cover but also with the manager in failing to have anyone on site to provide that cover. hat doesn't necessarily mean Mahrez either. Given the position of the tackle perhaps the most likely cover should have come from Inler or Drinkwater in central midfield. Someone should have recognised the situation and taken responsibility - and not the centre-backs because they're too slow to be exposed that far from the penalty area. For me it emphasised yet again how badly King is missed because he's always prepared to provide that kind of donkey work - the unsung marking of potentially dangerous space if someone makes an error. Times it's been apparent over the years if you've watched carefully - how he fills in the triangles and limits the options, making it so difficult for opponents to create more than half-chances. Trouble is it never looks spectacular or even important. Only the sparsity of chances - it was almost a trademark at times - testified to the work being done and, yesterday, Stoke had far too many chances through players avoiding just one obstacle and finding they had either a direct route into the danger zone or could get there with a single pass. One day, if it continues. those balls being fizzed high and low across our six yard box are going to get gobbled up and the failure to track runners will be viewed as a X-film at Monday morning's training. For all that we've deserved so much praise for our attitude, courage and self-belief our team has well-defined weaknesses which players, manager and coaches need to use their skills to either rectify or minimise. And that starts with everyone understanding the need to cover for one another when things break down, when people take chances and when mistakes are made in potentially vulnerable places. I even wonder if Kasper could be partly faulted for the second Stoke goal through not screaming "away" at Morgan when best placed to see the danger. In other words the cover was actually there but didn't take the right action. No, I'm not nitpicking or looking for scapegoats - our players have done collective wonders for our club - I'm just looking at things we need to improve. The personalities don't really matter in this context.
Dan Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Set up was wrong again but once again the changes made were right. I haven't got a clue why he tries to fit Kante in on the wing when he's been our best central midfielder. The character of this team is unmatched in this league as far as I'm concerned, although I do feel the defeat is coming soon. We can't keep living this dangerously, nor can we keep defending this badly. I'd still go back to 3-4-3.

Wymsey Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Bravely sat at the Boothen End, very hard as most of the fans around me sounded like thugs. After 20 minutes I thought they'll score a few more, but Ranieri changed it in the middle and replaced Okazaki over time. Leicester fans were loud, and Stoke didn't particularly like it when chanting ''Are you Villa in disguise?''.

Riot Van Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Ahh, don't subscribe to that. At least you don't have to pay for the stoke one I suppose
Clever Fox Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 I thought DD was our man of the match yesterday, composed and confident on the ball. Getting his head up early and picking out some excellent passes. He's clearly learned from watching from the stands last year. I feel he's one of the first names on the team sheet now and long may it continue. Kante is like the Duracell Bunny and proving an excellent signing for us. He's settled in quickly and not afraid to have a shot either when getting forward. The thing I'm having trouble understanding is CR being an Italian Coach from the home of defensive football is having so much trouble seeing the problems with our defence. Or more importantly not doing anything about it. We have to bring Big Was or someone in at full back. Otherwise CR will never have to buy the Pizzas for the lads. As well as the forward players are playing your never going to outscore the opposition every week, especially if you're leaking soft goals at the back. CR needs to deal with this problem and quickly. Before the doubt begins to creep into the players minds going onto the pitch.
Wymsey Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Kante, for me. Ran and midfield, and HAS to be first choice CM; Stoke's a tough place to play football and his performance showed that he's crucial for us as well as Mahrez.

We are 3rd in the league and our system is working!

Hack Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 What the hell are you on about? I am suggesting returning to the successful formation we ended last season with. One he shouldn't have tinkered with in the first place. End of last season we were defending better and scoring good goals. It worked better then any formation he has out out. So go and do one with your pointless insults. His need to put Inler in the team after the villa game was atrocious, Inler had an absolute stinker and CR shouldn't have dropped King for him in the first place. End of. People should not be picked on name, they should be picked on form. P.s. If your going to insult someone, it would help if you could spell the word correctly. That formation used last year has not been used by CR at all. So any variation from what has lead to a undefeated season so far is unnecessary tinkering to use your term. You can't have it both ways and complain that he has used a few formations from what he started with being 442 and then tell him to use Pearson's formation. That is what i am on about. We have had the best start in the clubs history in the PL and then you say go back to last years end of season formation. Yes that worked for us last year, but what he has been doing has worked as well. So how about leaving the manager to pick the formation. Anything you say is contradictory to your first point of complaining that he has tinkered with what worked . 532 has not been used at all this season and probably won't be.
Dan Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Why can people not drop the 3 at the back thing! We are 3rd in the league and our system is working! Individual quality is what's getting us that high, not the formation. Individual quality and the mentality to attack teams which only seems to be arriving at half time - it's been the same since the Spurs game. It's a weird situation, we're doing really well this season, but I honestly think we could be doing even better. Shows how far we've come really.
foxeslad Posted 21 September 2015 Posted 21 September 2015 vardy and mahrez where amazing on Saturday i wish i was there to see the game..
Mintef Posted 21 September 2015 Posted 21 September 2015 From the Stoke Sentinel. "A draw was surely fair reward for both teams and some of us will wager that Stoke will finish the higher of the two by next May" Read more: http://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/Stoke-City-2-Leicester-City-2-match-comment/story-27833396-detail/story.html#ixzz3mMOSoxyc I'll take that wager.
