Spurs replay moved to Wednesday for TV

Being down here in southern France, I am delighted that it is on the BBC, and I am really looking forward to it.

Also, I've got a mate in Los Angeles who has become a mad City fan over the past couple of seasons. I've talked to him about the Foxes over the years, but he's not been able to watch them very often until we got promoted, and now he watches most games on NBC on his computer. He watched the game on Saturday on his big-screen TV, and his wife got really involved. It was the first game she had ever watched from start to finish, and she was blown away by the passion of it all. She was apparently entranced by the singing - by both sets of fans - and by the fact that it went on all the way through the match.

I got a phone call tonight from her telling me the match is on TV, starting 09:45 in California. She's seriously excited, and will watch the whole game. My mate (her husband) will be at work, but he's hoping to sneak it in on his PC. However, she has promised to record it for him just in case.

We are becoming a world-wide brand!

The BBC could have easily demonstrated there seemed no way the referee could have seen that penalty incident and therefore had no right to give a penalty or make a decision that seems only to have been based on the Spurs player's (hardly disinterested) reaction.

Did they ask the referee for his explanation?

Or are they simply shackled by the authorities and why?

We shouldn't be surprised. What with their doctored debate audiences and blatant political bias, they're beyond defending.

Yes, the BBC - and other broadcasters - are shackled by the authorities. Referees are not allowed to comment on matches or to be interviewed by any broadcaster after matches, and probably for good reason. The BBC went as far as they could in the post-match discussions in pointing out that the referee's decision was wrong.

I'd be interested in the justification for your remark about the BBC's "blatant political bias". Every government for the past 50 years has made the same complaint, and always entirely without proof.

Sorry to bring in politics but you are joking aren't you?

Do you watch the BBC NEWS?

If you do, surely you cannot have failed to notice the shit they give Corbyn? The way he is continually referred to as 'the Left Wing' leader? (Nothing wrong with left wing in my book but they try to use it as an insult).

When do they ever say, The Right Wing Cameron?

Look at the coverage of the reshuffle of his shadow cabinet, the BBC were disgraceful.

The BBC is full of Bullingdon Club Tories like Andrew Neil and David Dimbleby. Entitled to their views you may say. True, so they should work for the right wing media like The Sun, Daily Mail, The Times, Telegraph etc etc.

The BBC is supposed to be impartial, it's in their constitution.

SO BACK TO FOOTBALL. The BBC is supposed to be impartial, so they shouldn't show all the bias towards Tottenham, but then again, we do like it when Lineker is biased towards Leicester.

lol  Honestly people moaning about the BBC Spurs/Kane Wankathon. They had Heskey, O'Neill and Lineker as the pundits FFS!

This.

Some seriously weird people on here. We are getting a fair amount of coverage this season and people are still moaning we aren't. There are other teams in the country you know.

Thracian mostly posts good, well argued stuff, but tends to wear his politics on his sleeve. Just ignore his last sentences, and it's all good.

What I like about this is the way you apologise for bringing politics in. All posters should use this approach. This is the footy section of FT, a forum for fans of LCFC.

So I apologise but... Another example of how 'unbiased'  the Beeb is, was the Scottish referendum. To be fair to the Beeb, I can't recall any government trying the level of intimidation we have seen recently. The whole institution is running scared, imho.

Really annoyed by this, booked Tuesday off and now can't get Wednesday off!!

To top it off the phone lines at the club are so busy they are terminating calls, so good luck trying to get a refund!

Can't really see spurs bringing a massive crowd. They could get about 5000 odd allocated potentially.

They got an allocation of 3300 and have sold out, they could have sold many more.

I bought tickets for my mum for Christmas because it's the sort of shit she'd like to go and see. I'm sure I'll have a great time there lol
