Bevan Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 Just wondered what our highest premier league points total has been (in the modern bpl format) and also our highest finishing position?
Izzy Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 Just wondered what our highest premier league points total has been (in the modern bpl format) and also our highest finishing position? 8th in 99-00 season with 55 points I think - probably in the History section on here
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 Eighth with 55 points in 1999-2000 as well as winning the League Cup. We should have smashed that in 2000/01, but only turned up for half the season.
Danizen Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 Highest ever finish was 2nd in 1929. That's the one to beat!
Strokes Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 8th in 99-00 season with 55 points I think - probably in the History section on hereYeah that's right I checked it out earlier, we did also win the league cup that year though.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 Highest ever finish was 2nd in 1929. That's the one to beat! Only got 52 points though.
Fox in the Forest Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 Only got 52 points though. only 2 points for a win though
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 23 January 2016 Posted 23 January 2016 only 2 points for a win though Wow, we finished 2nd even though other teams got one more point for winning games? That was an extra special season!
kushiro Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 Getting to 47 points yesterday we've equalled Martin O'Neill's first Premier League season. Over the next few games it'll be interesting to see how quickly we can pass his other Premier points totals: 49 (1998/99) 53 (1997/98) 55 (1999/2000)
foxes_rule1978 Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 Just wondered what our highest premier league points total has been (in the modern bpl format) and also our highest finishing position? Modern era, the side we have now is stacking a claim to be the best. If we are playing champions league, that is better than any anount of league cup wins... champions league is what every elite club fights for now.
Pegosteve Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 The 1929 finish although 42 games and 2 its if you equal it to modern day and average the points per game it comes to 65 points, so I suppose thats the target!
HighPeakFox Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 The 1929 finish although 42 games and 2 its if you equal it to modern day and average the points per game it comes to 65 points, so I suppose thats the target! Taken as an average, that equates to a rounded up 59 points in 38 games
FoxFossil Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 1928-29?..Won 21 Drawn 9 Lost 12. Total 51 points. So difficult to compare with 42 games. Lochhead a regular scorer!
Pegosteve Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 Taken as an average, that equates to a rounded up 59 points in 38 games Sorry but 21 x 3 = 63 + 9 = 72 Divide by 42 = 1.71 per game x 38 = 65.
FireFox Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 Let's just finish first with more than 72 points.
