ealingfox Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 The various striker threads are getting a bit hysterical. I know I'm not one to talk about not overreacting, but I have not been concerned about our transfer dealings and their quality for some time now, and neither should you. The set-up we have is smart, the scouting is exceptional, the pursuits and tracking are dedicated and thorough, and we do our business as privately as possible. They have shown they they are not afraid to use smokescreens, cloaks and daggers, set up deals they have no intention of completing etc, manipulation tactics to get what we want. Ranieri has bought into it all. Pelle, Musa, Eder - I'd wager they haven't all been targets, approached in an order of preference. I bet at least one is a decoy, or false speculation. They could all be. We could be embarking on another completely unexpected deal. Sometimes we have done deals in a day over the last couple of seasons. Chill, he's got this.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 Gentlemen! You can't fight in here! This is the boardroom!
Fox 4 Life Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 Not sure what Walsh has to do with the fact we've left buying a striker to the last few days of an already price inflating window?
RedSoxUK Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 James MacArthur's face when Cambiasso signed must have been hilarious.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 Chill, he's got this. "Hello, is this Bradley Wright-Phillips agent?"
STUHILL Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 Agreed. Also, I know we need a striker but it's not like Vardy is out injured or anything. We have our starting 11 for Tuesday. We still have 4 days to get a striker in, so don't see why everyone is moaning we hadn't done it earlier. Might as well use the 4 days to get the best striker possible and at the best deal possible.
ealingfox Posted 28 January 2016 Author Posted 28 January 2016 Not sure what Walsh has to do with the fact we've left buying a striker to the last few days of an already price inflating window? Yeah I mean we're desperately struggling for goals aren't we? Listen, Walsh doesn't get it spot-on all the time, if he did we'd probably be top of the... oh wait.
Fox 4 Life Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 It's nothing to do with needing goals, we only have Ulloa as a reserve striker who, let's be honest, is not good enough. God forbid something does happen to Vardy we need depth. This is the best chance we will probably ever have of winning the league or at least finishing in the top 4 so why risk that by leaving business late?

Sometimes Clubs don't make players available or realise they should sell til late on, sometimes it takes a while to persuade them to sell, sometimes it takes a while to persuade the player, sometimes its dictated by the selling Club's own January business. Clubs panic sell as well as panic buy. You reckon 5 mill would have been the asking price for Pelle last summer?

The whole point of transfer windows is needless hysteria punctuated by brief moments of hope and more frequent bouts of disappointment. Anybody trying to be sensible just isn't getting into the spirit!
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 Agree with this post. I'm not overly concerned that we have not signed a striker as of yet, I have faith in our scouting system and Walsh that they'll bring in the right man, who suits us and has all the attributes needed to fit in to our squad. Perhaps it may be someone not on the radar or in the transfer talk like the original post says, we'll see.
ealingfox Posted 28 January 2016 Author Posted 28 January 2016 After the Chelsea game the MNF pundits were pretty unanimous in saying that we had the 3 best players in the Premier League at that point. They were all signed for a combined total of £7million. If you don't trust in Walsh and his team now you might as well fvck off til Walsh has left the Club.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 Chill, he's got this. Chill, he's got this. This games too easy ☺️
HoustonFox Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 pelle signing confirmed I heard he's 'well up' for joining us..... *viagra joke
4everfox Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 It is absolutely imperative that we sign a striker in the next couple of days. Failure to do so will leave us short and could potentially cost us the title or worse, a place in the champions league. If we have been chasing this Musa fella but are being tight with funds then I must ask the question, where is your ambition Leicester? Just pay the money and get him in because it will likely be critical to any short term success we have.
