Fox92 Posted 12 February 2016 Posted 12 February 2016 Usually go through there coming to home games. Junction 21 seems ages away when I usually get off at Junction 22.
Guest MattP Posted 12 February 2016 Posted 12 February 2016 You've got The Forge which is a great pub. Try living in Glen Parva, no restaurants, no pubs, no takeaways. All we've got is 3 shops, a dentist, a post office, a barbers and a cob shop. It is, I go in most Saturdays, the prices are starting to take the piss a bit though, Peroni is now £5 a pint in there.
Samilktray Posted 12 February 2016 Posted 12 February 2016 It took me years to realise Glenfield was actually a place and not just a hospital.
Soar Fox Posted 12 February 2016 Posted 12 February 2016 It is, I go in most Saturdays, the prices are starting to take the piss a bit though, Peroni is now £5 a pint in there. I saw you in there about 5 weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon about 2pm/ish. Didn't want to disturb you as it looked like you had 2 pints of cider to get through.

Soar Fox Posted 12 February 2016 Posted 12 February 2016 That sounds about right Next time do come over and say hello though. Will do. My girlfriend only lives round the corner so whenever she has a Saturday off and Leicester aren't playing we'll go there for lunch.
kingcarr21 Posted 12 February 2016 Posted 12 February 2016 For years Gynsills was the place to eat but that's been shit for a long time now. The Forge I am always impressed with everytime I go there. I may have walked past you Matt but unfortunately I have no idea what you look like

All we've got is 3 shops, a dentist, a post office, a barbers and a cob shop. Mate try living in Thorpe Astley. Apart from an Aldi and the Meridian a short walk away (there's no excuse for anyone in TA to be driving to the meridian if it's not raining ), there's bugger all else. We'd kill for three shops, a dentist and a barbers. In fact if we had a post office it'd be nice! Of course everyone knows NPW is the gateway from Glenfield/Boggy Leys to Braunstone Town too
PAULCFC Posted 12 February 2016 Posted 12 February 2016 One week is not much. Some areas have had roadworks for over six months. This is one of them,it's like driving on the Monaco GP circuit between the Glenfield roundabout and the one near Beaumont Leys, there's that many cones.Slightly slower though!

They are to food what whetherspoons is to crack heads

Of course everyone knows NPW is the gateway from Glenfield/Boggy Leys to Braunstone Town too At least you've got a couple of pubs a short walk away. Glen Parva is bang in the middle of Aylestone & Blaby it's a 20 minute walk either side to get to a nearest pub. The Glen in Eyres Monsell would be closer but no way am I drinking in there.
kingcarr21 Posted 12 February 2016 Posted 12 February 2016 Not sure why people being surprised at shoddy food in a fare and squayre pub. Terrible terrible place to exist. They are to food what whetherspoons is to crack heads The carvery that gynsills used to do was really good.
SystonFox Posted 12 February 2016 Posted 12 February 2016 Used to being the key word here! It's doggo nowadays. As is heathley park, hobby horse etc etc. They're all poor
davieG Posted 12 February 2016 Author Posted 12 February 2016 The island at Gynsels lane looks like a scene from The Day of the Triffids with all those traffic lights
Libertine Posted 12 February 2016 Posted 12 February 2016 Railway ain't great - but you a fiver I guess you can't complain. Still not checked out the Forge. Love a birrof Glenneh - wouldn't mind living in the area when I move next. Dreading next week. Been off all this week, gonna be a right shock to the system with all this going on on Monday morn.
