Sampson Posted 19 March 2016 Posted 19 March 2016 Ah **** it: 10 - Drinkwater 9 - Okazaki, Schmeichel, Morgan, Albrighton, Fuchs, Kante 8 - Huth, Vardy, Mahrez, Simpson What a proper team effort! Everyone kept running and throwing themselves at the ball for the whole 90 minutes! Actually thought that was one of our best performances from an attacking point of view in the first half and from defensive point of view in the second half. Defended like champions.
FireFox Posted 19 March 2016 Posted 19 March 2016 7s, 8s, and 9s all round. Claudio stay obviously, he's finally going to not finish 2nd!
Lloydwasmylife Posted 19 March 2016 Posted 19 March 2016 Whoscored.com ratings for today: Kasper - 7.5 Simpson - 7.4 Morgan - 8.3 (motm) Huth - 7.5 Fuchs - 7.9 Riyad - 8.1 Kante - 8.1 Drinky - 7.3 Albrighton - 7.5 Shinji - 6.6 Vardy - 7.8 I always like to compare these ratings to ours since there's a set system for rating them, and normally they aren't too far apart, but these seem a little strange to me. It's almost as if Fuchs and Shinji's ratings are the wrong way round
Sampson Posted 19 March 2016 Posted 19 March 2016 Whoscored.com's ratings are biased towards players who dribble though (with dribbling stats being the most highly weighted stat) and player's whose good work is all on the ball. Shinji always gets poor ratings because a lot of his good work is off the ball.
Blue nose 9 Posted 19 March 2016 Posted 19 March 2016 From all us at Everton Football Club . What an achievement for you all at Leicester Fc . Hope you go on to win the Premiership . From one crowd of Blues to another. Keep it going .
Sionnach gorm Posted 19 March 2016 Posted 19 March 2016 Wish I could. I only saw 50 minutes of the game.
Guest ttfn Posted 19 March 2016 Posted 19 March 2016 Schmeichel 8 Simpson 7 Morgan 9 Huth 8 Fuchs 7 Mahrez 7 Drinkwater 8 Kante 8 Albrighton 7 Okazaki 7 Vardy 6 Subs: Ulloa 5 Ranieri 7 Ref 5 Palace 4
Thracian Posted 19 March 2016 Posted 19 March 2016 Kasper 8 (Good handling when he wasn't being fouled or when he was choosing to punch and one or two decent saves). Simpson 8 (Generally coped well with a difficult opponent). Morgan 8 (Played his part in restricting Palace to crumbs in terms of clear-cut chances). Huth 8 (See above, and may even have been fouled for what might arguably have been a penalty though I've not seen a replay) Fuchs 8 (Competed well and did much to limit the threat from the right). Drinkwater 8 (Excellent involvement, particularly first half when he was greatly involved in the move from which we scored and in delivering a brilliant pass to put Mahrez right through. Less influential second half when our passing flow all but disappeared and it was disappointing to see him pass (badly) when he'd worked the chance to shoot and quite possibly score) Kante 7 (Not his best game but still pretty good). Mahrez 8 (Missed what seemed like a sitter despite the goalkeeper deserving credit for getting a hand on his shot but despatched the winning goal in style. Generally was only rarely a threat but big games are so often decided by big players and he fulfilled that roll yet again with his principal strike partner, and made the difference in terms of our collecting all three points). Vardy 8 (Supplied the assist for Mahrez and looked very dangerous when he did get some space, which wasn't often) Shinji 7 (Should have scored with a header and might also have scored with creating an unlikely shooting situation in a very tight position). Albrighton 7 (Came inside to complete one good dribble and shot while working hard and quite effectively almost throughout). Subs: Not really on long enough to warrant a rating although both played their small part well enough.
SpinneyHillRanger Posted 19 March 2016 Posted 19 March 2016 Morgan was brilliant 9. Rest get 8s all round
Harry96 Posted 19 March 2016 Posted 19 March 2016 Thought albrighton was quality once again him Wes and drinky were immense. Okazaki was great on first half too showed some lovely touches and control
Sampson Posted 19 March 2016 Posted 19 March 2016 Thought albrighton was quality once again He really has played well the past 7 or 8 games after a drop in form over xmas and looks back to his early season best now. Same with Schmeichel who's hit great form recently after a dodgy spell around xmas and Fuchs who I thought had his best game in a while today. Good to see players hitting form just at the right time!
WesMorganGod Posted 20 March 2016 Posted 20 March 2016 Kasper - 7 Simpson - 7 Morgan - 10 Huth - 8 Fuchs - 8 Kante - 7 Drinkwater - 9 Albrighton - 8 Mahrez- 7 Vardy - 7 Okazaki - 6
erlee Posted 20 March 2016 Posted 20 March 2016 i gave Morgan MOTM without looking at the ratings. . .
Oxfordfox83 Posted 20 March 2016 Posted 20 March 2016 Kasper - 8 One of the differences between the sides Simpson - 7 Morgan - 8 Huth - 8 Both CB's excellent in keeping all their threat at arm's length. Fuchs - 6 Not his best. Still walk into any other team in the country mind... Kante - 7 Quieter than normal, but the opposition went wide all the time. Drinkwater - 9 MOTM Positioning, work rate, passing all absolutely flawless. Possibly his best all year. Albrighton - 8 Yet another industrious display, rely on a defensively solid, tenacious and hard working performance Mahrez- 7 Rubbish, then won the game, then quiet. A game changer, but really only on it for 5 minutes... Vardy - 7 Worked very hard to make space for others. Nice 'assist'... Okazaki - 9 Fabulous performance from Shinji, as good as I've seen him. I think he was the difference between us and Palace, disrupting their game and, unusually, looking kinda comfortable on the ball
Foxbythesea Posted 20 March 2016 Posted 20 March 2016 Great result today with lovely football. Kasper - 7 Simpson - 7 Morgan - 9 (MOTM) Huth - 8 Fuchs - 7 Mahrez - 8 Drinkwater - 8 Kante - 8 Albrighton - 7 Vardy - 7 Okazaki - 8 Ulloa - 5 Claudio - 9 Ref - 5 Palace - 5
Trelleh Posted 20 March 2016 Posted 20 March 2016 Never an easy game at selhurst park: Schmeichel - 8.5 - fantastic save onto the post to keep us in front, solid as always. Simpson - 8 - Handled Bolasie well all game, arguably one of their key men Morgan - 9 - How long can he keep putting in these performances? Once again always behind everything. my MOTM Huth - 9 - Again, faultless and behind everything palace threw at us. Fuchs - 8 - Another good game from him, performed the basics well and almost set up Okazaki from one of his trademark throws. Kante - 8 - Was everywhere again today, it's like he stops time, quickly nips over to the ball then resumes his watch, brilliant. Drinkwater - 8 - had a feeling his call-up might have altered his performance for this game, but proved otherwise. a strong performance again from drinky. Albrighton - 8 - Can't fault him at all, he put in a quality shift. Mahrez - 8 - At times he struggled to get in the game, but when he did he gave them problems, provided the match winner once again in a close affair. Okazaki - 7.5 - had numerous opportunities to score from a long throw by Fuchs and a clever turn from a difficult position. Otherwise, he put in a solid graft. Vardy - 8 - Didn't get a goal but cleverly spotted Riyads run into the box, closed down very well again, typical nuisance. Ulloa - 7 - Came on and done his job in seeing the game out. Ranieri - 9 - tactics spot on once again, what a man. Fans - 11 - fantastic display, non stop noise throughout the 90 minutes. I thought they were going to have a lock-in after the game! Fantastic stuff again, could have been a potential banana skin but turned up and got the job done in a professional manner, roll on Southampton.
foxaholic Posted 20 March 2016 Posted 20 March 2016 Rather worrying that every body gets 8 or 9 we are top of the table and win 1-0 against a side who havent won all year a sign of champions is plaing bad and winning 1-0 not playing well but thats nit picking
shen Posted 20 March 2016 Posted 20 March 2016 Kasper 7 - Once more assured at the back, very good interventions. Only hairy moment was at the end when he missed his punch and Ulloa unwittingly almost looped it into his own net. Distribution OK. Simpson 7 - Was given a very tough time by Bolasie who was easily Palace's best player. Still, fought valiantly and did enough to put Bolasie off a few times. Struggled with Sako as well, but won a lot of aerial duels which I was pleasantly surprised about. Decent in possession. Morgan 8 - Simply a beast. This was him at his best defensively, which is essentially what he's there to do. Got on the end of so many crosses. Huth 8 - Like Morgan and should have had a penalty. Fuchs 7 - Zaha gave him the runaround a few times first half, but luckily there was no end product. Made a few good last gap challenges and did well second half. Also great aerially. Mahrez 8 - It's barely an 8, but he came up with the goods once again. Poor finish from the one on one, he could've easily rounded the keeper as he went down early anticipating the shot to the far corner. Great work ethic and defensive shift as well. Drinkwater 8 - It's becoming standard, these types of performances. Superb first half with brilliant passes and bursting runs. Not great when he gets in or near the box which is something he should look at improving. Great energy levels and far far better link up play than on Monday. Kanté 8 - He's just a machine. Trademark defensive work and ball-carrying, but sadly also a total lack of composure and poor decision-making in the final third. All is forgiven though as no other player on this planet is able to put that many sustained runs in that he does. Albrighton 7 - Standard Albrighton, although better finishing this time. He looked far more offensive this time making late runs to the far post when the ball was on the right and a great dribble and shot to test Hennessey. Strangely couldn't deal with Sako cutting in from the right despite being right-footed and better suited to stop that cannon of a left foot! Shinji 7 - Great work rate as usual, could've bagged a goal although both were tricky chances. Far better and more consistent in these recent weeks than he has been earlier this season. Vardy 7 - I loved his run late in the second half getting the ball between four Palace players and just putting on the afterburners only for a last ditch tackle preventing a 2-0 scoreline. Such a shame he doesn't get the space anymore to do these exhilarating things. Another assist and further proof that he's still a very potent striker even when the goals dry up. Subs: Ulloa 6 - Did alright without doing too much. Superb option to bring in when defending desperate hoofballs. Schlupp N/A Amartey N/A Ranieri 7 - Doesn't need to do a whole lot. Same starting XI, same subs, nothing's changed. Team was more confident and less nervous than on Monday though, so he gets a mark for that.
Shinji-San Posted 21 March 2016 Posted 21 March 2016 Thought the team played great, purpose, intensity, spirit. After the whistle I gave Huth my motm, nullified many dangerous moments, especially first half.
Sionnach gorm Posted 21 March 2016 Posted 21 March 2016 Rather worrying that every body gets 8 or 9 we are top of the table and win 1-0 against a side who havent won all year a sign of champions is plaing bad and winning 1-0 not playing well but thats nit picking CP are not that bad a side
foxes21 Posted 21 March 2016 Posted 21 March 2016 Are people seriously giving Okakazi a 7 . He was one of our stand out players vs palace and easily the best player in the first half.
ThaiFox Posted 21 March 2016 Posted 21 March 2016 Ranieri -9- Team is picking itself, but he still deserves a lot of credit for setting them up against different oppositions. Kasper -7- Apart from the moment at the end when he missed his punch, he was excellent again. Better distribution too. Simpson -7- Played well and assured, although up against good wingers. Stopped a lot of crosses and rushed players into rash crosses or shots. Morgan -8- Won 100% of all headers. Can't say more than that really! Huth -8 - Another solid as a rock game. Can't believe the ref didn't give us a penalty when his shirt was pulled off. Fuchs -7- Just like Simpson's rating, I thought he did well and if a player got a cross in it was usually rushed. Mahrez -7- Really helping out in defense as well as some outstanding bits of skill. Should have scored his one on one, but still won the game with a well taken effort. Drinkwater -9- Bog standard performance from Drinky. In other words, OUTSTANDING and MOTM. Kanté -8- He's here, he's there, he's every f***ing where. Another awesome performance. Albrighton -7- Just wish he'd score, as he's getting into good positions and shooting well. Some nice crosses and usual excellent work rate. Okazaki -7- Another good performance. Still need him to score more to relieve the pressure from Mahrez and Vardy. Vardy -7- Ran and ran his heart out again. Even when he doesn't score he sets things up and defenders are scared stiff. Unlike Okazaki, he would be worth his place if he only scored 6 a season, like last season. Subs: Ulloa -6- Always a good player to bring on late. His defensive work is under rated and he poses another threat up front. Schlupp -5- Not really on long enough for a proper rating. Amartey -5- Like Schlupp. Officials -6- Missed a stone wall penalty when Huth had his shirt removed, but otherwise I thought them all fair. Palace -6- Made a game of it, but look a little short on confidence. Will be safe and are a dangerous side. Another great result in a possible banana skin game. Next up is Southampton which will be very tough again. 7 to go, 4 wins and 2 draws should do it, but it's going to be a tough run in (if not for the players for me!). Still have this horrible feeling about tottingham. Maybe I hate them too much, but goal difference could come into it and I don't know if I could stand it if we lost the title to spuds.
