GaelicFox Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 Sorry can't see it being discussed anywhere Feel free mods to move if it's already being discussed I just signed the petition "Leicester city football club and leicester city council : Big screens in city to watch leicester make history" Thier goal is to reach 100 signatures and they need more support. You can read more and sign the petition here: https://www.change.org/p/leicester-city-football-club-and-leicester-city-council-big-screens-in-city-to-watch-leicester-make-history?recruiter=521397116&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=share_email_responsive

davieG Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 but can you guarantee which game it will be if it even happens otherwise it could be an anti-climax. Unless of course the petition is for all the remaining games which is not clearly stated. Even then you're assuming it's definitely happening.
Carl the Llama Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 Nothing to stop the organisers going ahead with clearing out Filbert St 'dump' and having a clandestine match viewing akin to those illegal field raves we all went to at uni, albeit slightly more visible to law enforcement...
FantasticMrFox&Son Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 Think it's a great idea, and assumed it was to celebrate the season finale at Chelsea. A chance for all the fans to take part with Big Screens at the KP, a nominal admission fee, all proceeds to CHARITY. Celebration merchandising on offer, come of boys and girls a win-win opportunity to celebrate a landmark season whatever happens in the last six games.

If you want to be with other Leicester fans then get down to your local rather than support an idea that will only serve to fleece local landlords.
FantasticMrFox&Son Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 And what do you suggest I do with my young lad who wants to be a part of this too ?
GaelicFox Posted 4 April 2016 Author Posted 4 April 2016 And what do you suggest I do with my young lad who wants to be a part of this too ?This is my issue .... I can't take my kids to pubs and they have been to every home game this season we could get to and are season ticket holders seems aweful they can't get that big group atmosphere without being in a pub It's not my petition , just sharing it

Trav Le Bleu Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 Plenty of pubs have screens that kids can watch.
FantasticMrFox&Son Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 Each to their own, I'd prefer the KP with Big Screens and 1000's of foxes fans.
fuchsntf Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 You all went crazy, when pundits, journalist, opposition fans ganged up for the penalty conspiracy. Why not show the same enthusiasm, to try, at least try to see if screens and location could be found to help, families, kids, or just fans who cant get tickets. Ask the liason/marketting officer at the club, ask sky, ask an events organisation to liason, ask the council. Ask BBC east midlands tv, ask Kasabian to help. Some fans must have contacts. Get the sporting Loughborough university interested. FFs mail Engelbert Humperdinck, Hemil Heskey, Gary Lineker...etc etc. Ask local pubs for special license to admit kids( with parents) for a fee. you lazy barstewards, get moving get thinking, use your bonces, try at least to get big names Collectively try the club, and then local football clubs, even Rugby clubs and social clubs. Dance/nite-clubs to open their doors, for mass viewing. Fact, all the games are now Live, so it aint impossible, to set up if need be 2-4 venues. If public viewing then council and police have to be involved. PS: Get the Leicester Mercury involved, bomb em with the suggestion. BBC R.Leicester.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 Can we just all agree this can't be done because of broadcasting rights and leave it?
ItalianGuyWhoLikesLCFC Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 Excuse me for the question: is there a law in the UK against showing football matches on big screens? In Italy it happens pretty often: when a team plays its match of the season the city council usually arranges one or more big screens for those who can't go to the stadium. So I don't understand why it is such an issue in Leicester.
fuchsntf Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 Can we just all agree this can't be done because of broadcasting rights and leave it? Then it can be done..!!! Get the priority Broadcaster involved, because any business with a box can do at least pub and club viewing...That would at least get some fans in front of the live-match. For Public viewing, again priority Broadcaster with participating clubs doesnt contradict any broadcasting rights. Use my suggested mediums for contacts and influence, then its an organisation issue. The Broadcaster will make money on advertising to a larger catchment of viewers. Business makes the impossible, and "cant be dones" possible and viable..Around the county alone at least another 50k+ extra viewers , not to be sniffed at . Thought and imagination..not negatives that can be overcome.
GaelicFox Posted 4 April 2016 Author Posted 4 April 2016 Can we just all agree this can't be done because of broadcasting rights and leave it? I'm pretty sure city have a sky subscription , I have watched Sky tv down there If we are live on sky's sports they can show on all the screens in ground just like a pub can show on all screens in a pub !
stretch1965 Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 I want this to happen, I want to be celebrating with thousands like being at a home game, don't get me wrong the pub will do but I want to be a part of something big and to say I was there. Also I as well as others would have a few beers in the Western before and after as I usually do so local pubs not missing out. Too many negative trolls want to poo poo the idea because it doesn't suit them.

Well, I guess we'll see but I'm sure there's a reason why I we haven't seen this happen in about 10 years. Too many negative trolls want to poo poo the idea because it doesn't suit them. To quote Webbo I'm just injecting a spot of realism to the debate. I'd like to see if happen for the Chelsea game but I'm realistic in my expectations that it probably isn't legal.
