SemperEadem Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 Would travel without a ticket. Much prefer us not to get the 'shiny' away days cities like Barcelona and Madrid. The grottier the better in my opinion.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 12 April 2016 Author Posted 12 April 2016 I'm hoping for an away. I told the wife if we got somewhere warm I'd take her (not to the match obviously). Personally I fancy somewhere like Latvia. Riga is an awful place. And I like Eastern Europe trips
VLC86 Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 Donetsk or Poznan are not that pretty, but Prague is beautiful and beer is cheap Have you been to Donetsk? It wasn't too bad at all when I went, stadium itself is the best Iv ever been to.
Guest ttfn Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 Club Brugge currently top of the league in Belgium
Guest Kopfkino Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 Gave up my season ticket this year when I went to uni, will go to a European game next year with friends whether I get a ticket or not
VLC86 Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 What sort of allocations are we looking at????Can't remember the % but it normally works out very nicely. In my job annual leave is blocked during September and October so I'm either going to have to grovel like **** or not go. Could be tough when my bosses boss is a Spurs fan. Think it might actually be 10%.
Soar Fox Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 I reckon I'll go to all 3 wherever the location. A couple of the lads I go with said they would be a bit wary & probably not bother going to places like Turkey or Russia

LJS Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 I have every intention of going to at least a couple even without a ticket. Looking at the league tables around Europe there are some great potential trips. Berlin, Madrid, Lisbon, Naples, Prague, Monaco, Athens, Moscow all look possible.
billyn88 Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 Always been a dream to see Leicester in Europe and I'm more bothered about catching a game abroad than at the king power (doubt silver even get a look in). Barcelona or Real would almost certainly sell out quick sharp in our end but getting tickets in the home end is a cake walk as long as they're not playing each other. In a stadium like that playing the tourist card would be easy as well. If it's a nice place then worst comes to worst you've had a city break.

So does that mean we'll only give about 1.5k to away fans at ours? Good news if so for home availability.
LanguedocFox Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 It might not be as hard as you think to get tickets, depending on location. Obviously the likes Barca, Real and PSG would sell out instantly, but somewhere like Shakhtar Donetsk, Lech Poznan or Sparta Prague probably wouldn't as the tourists wouldn't fancy it. Ironically, this'd make them better away days. Barca and Real won't sell out at all in the early stages, although all of the away tickets will go. Their grounds are huge, and it's usually possible to buy locally before the games.
Ross-Kemp Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 You're jinxing it Stuart, we're going to end up in pissing Lithuania. Ticket or no ticket I'll be there, Russia or Ukraine in December would be wonderful.

That would leave plenty of home tickets if you don't mind sitting on your hands. I for one would sooner be with my own away from home - it's relatively easy to pass yourself as a home fan in the Premier League, not so easy in Europe.
Guest Bilo Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 I'm hoping for Sparta Prague away. Beautiful place and about the equivalent of £1.20 a pint? Exactly - it's not really a football tourist venue either as Sparta Prague aren't exactly a European giant. If we were to get an allocation of around 2,000, it'd be relatively easy to get a ticket.
Guest Bilo Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 So does that mean we'll only give about 1.5k to away fans at ours? Good news if so for home availability. Worth remembering that some countries in Europe don't really have the same away fan mentality as us too, Spanish clubs seldom travel all that well. German clubs would want big allocations though.

Hostile places like Poznan or an Istanbul club yes, disagree on Barcelona or Madrid though, the atmosphere is generally very tepid and full of tourists. I think you'd even get away with some mild applause for an opposition goal.

AKCJ Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 I'm hoping for Sparta Prague away. Beautiful place and about the equivalent of £1.20 a pint? Depends where you go. The closer you are to the centre, the more it'll be. But if you venture out it gets cheaper (and i mean two or three streets away, its mental). When I went we were a 2 minute walk to the old town square and opposite our hotel was an underground bar that sold beer for 28 crowns which is about 85p.
GaelicFox Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 What pot Would we be in ? Didn't they change the rules ? All the champions in one pot now ?
Guest Bilo Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 Benfica or Sporting CP would be class as well - it'd be well worth going to Lisbon even without a match ticket, beautiful city.
Guest Bilo Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 What pot Would we be in ? Didn't they change the rules ? All the champions in one pot now ? The winners of the CL and the top 7 ranked leagues automatically go into Pot 1, regardless of club coefficient. Our club coefficient would matter if we didn't win the league, as we'd go straight into Pot 4.
