The Year Of The Fox Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 Now we're all but guaranteed three games in Europe next season I'm wondering how many fans are likely to travel abroad, with or without a match ticket. Reckon there'll be many who see it as a once in a lifetime/generation thing or will the STHs who aren't bothered about travelling to away games in this country won't bother going abroad either? I reckon the more obscure the place the easier it'd be to get a ticket out there. Also the bigger stadiums would give you more chance of getting in the home end. There are always ways and means of getting in. And in any case, who'd turn down a trip abroad with 3-5k other city fans on the lash even if you couldn't get to the game- it's only 90mins
Fox92 Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 I want to go to at least one of the away games in Europe. Wouldn't bother travelling if I didn't get a ticket though. Waste of money above everything else.
Captain... Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 Yes to at least one, location and timing might rule some out, but I will be there for at least one away day, hopefully all 3.
AKCJ Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 Depends. If its in a good city and still warm out then yeah I might. Be a good laugh and a holiday.
Guest Bilo Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 It might not be as hard as you think to get tickets, depending on location. Obviously the likes Barca, Real and PSG would sell out instantly, but somewhere like Shakhtar Donetsk, Lech Poznan or Sparta Prague probably wouldn't as the tourists wouldn't fancy it. Ironically, this'd make them better away days.

AKCJ Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 Donetsk or Poznan are not that pretty, but Prague is beautiful and beer is cheap Prague away is the stuff of dreams.
Guest Bilo Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 Prague away would be utter carnage. Not one for the sitters or tartan blankets.
Harry - LCFC Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 I've no idea how fast tickets are likely to sell for this. Weighing up factors like distance, importance of the fixture and league form means you can usually make a good guess of how many tickets we'd be able to sell. It won't be so easy to make that judgement with CL fixtures.
ousefox Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 Only places I wouldn't go to are Turkey and Russia. Doubt I'd bother going without a ticket tbh but that shouldn't be an issue.
ItalianGuyWhoLikesLCFC Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 I'd really love to see you guys here in Rome. Also, it would be nice to see Ranieri playing against "his" AS Roma.
Voll Blau Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 Not sure hanging around in Naples would be too clever.
Itsthejoeker Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 I still reckon tickets will be more available than people are making out. It is one thing getting a coach to Sunderland on a Sunday, but an oversees game on a weekday night is something completely different.
StanSP Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 Doubt there'd be games in Donetsk, either. Haven't Shakhtar stopped playing there since the city (and the stadium) got bombed? Depending where it is, I'd love to go but it'd be so weird not going with everyone and missing the match whilst being in the city
Adster Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 I want to go to at least one of the away games in Europe. Wouldn't bother travelling if I didn't get a ticket though. Waste of money above everything else. Both are my exact opinion as well. I want to go to at least one euro away day, but pointless if I can't get a ticket.
Kegworthfox Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 I follow England away and went on Wednesday to PSg v man city always make my own way there it's cheaper and better I have promised my 6 year old grandson at least 1 away
AndWhat? Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 Planning on going to all 3 away games. Some of the allocations are massive so don't think tickets will be that hard to come by. Don't you get like 9k for Barca?

The game usually ruins the trip People are seriously missing out if they'd not travel without a ticket
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 Completely dependant on location, If I can tie a game in with a short break somewhere I haven't been before I'm there regardless.
Webbo Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 I'm hoping for an away. I told the wife if we got somewhere warm I'd take her (not to the match obviously). Personally I fancy somewhere like Latvia.

If we get top 4 next season, then the season after once the novelty wears off they'd start being easier, but for the first season it'll be a quick sellout.
Hollism Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 I think the thousands who went to the likes of Bury and Norwich and Rotherham are just as likely to go to all the shitholes of Europe personally. How many people are on the away scheme? 500? You only get 5% of the capacity in Europe as well.
