broughtonblue Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 So how long have we been at the top of the table?
Harry - LCFC Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 When we drew to Aston Villa funnily enough, Arsenal didn't play that weekend. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35270643 The game before was the one at White Hart Lane. The one after was the 3-0 win over Stoke, Arsenal lost to Chelsea that weekend allowing us to go three points ahead. That was the moment I started to believe this was possible.

Now 5 pts clear and people are panicking with only 8 pts needed to be champions
DennisNedry Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 Now 5 pts clear and people are panicking with only 8 pts needed to be champions Justified worrying though. There's (finally) a team in red hot form behind us, and we're missing our best and most important player
Brainy Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 Justified worrying though. There's (finally) a team in red hot form behind us, and we're missing our best and most important player Exactly. A way I saw it yesterday that calmed my nerves is that we get a win this weekend (as well as Spurs most likely), 5 pts with 3 games remaining, and hope we can atleast match Spurs result away at Chelsea when we play Man Utd. 5 pts with 2 games left, hopefully 6 if we eek a draw and Chelsea win. That said I would not be at all surprised if Spurs were to win all their remaining games. They do look unstoppable at the minute. I don't really want to go to Chelsea at the end of the season needing a point, as well as we have been this season and as bad as Chelsea have been.
Sharpe's Foxes Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 The big change from the West Ham result is that people are now hoping that Tothenham slip up. Before West Ham it was simply a matter of how we do. We win 3 games (including West Ham) and there was nothing anyone could do about it. But now half the posts are hoping that Tothenham lose here or draw their. This is a dangerous change compared to before the West Ham screw job. And indicates that the pressure is starting to get to us when we are foucussing attention to Totenham's results. It also indicates that we are now not confident that we can win 3 of the remaining 4 games.
Liamlcfc1 Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 Would Chelsea really want Spurs to win they will beat them I think and field a weaker side against us I hope

I'm sure the players are confident though and will be up for it, I'm confident we will get the 8 points needed and been screaming for people to forget about Spurs. We don't need them to do anything
jim5000 Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 I can easily see Spurs winning all of their remaining fixtures, they are on fire at the moment. The draw with West Ham isn't a bad result, it has just sown that seed of doubt and with vardy missing for two it's even more worrying. It is still completely in our own hands but it's a real shame that Vardy will miss Man Utd for swearing at the referee - Van Gaal is terrified of him!

Spurs haven't played anyone on form recently (Stoke have nothing to play for example) Chelsea away and Southampton at home will be tough games for Spurs Anyway regardless of owt else if we really deserve the title we will win it ourselves
Brainy Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 You say they haven't played anyone on form yet mention Chelsea being tough? They've lost their last two. They're still my main hope to take points of them but they have nothing to play for. Soton won't be easy but they are more than good enough to brush them aside. Can only hope Newcastle need something to stay up on the final day too

Chrysalis Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 2 wins will do it for us if chelsea dont lose to spurs, I cannot see spurs dropping points against anyone else.
Nalis Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 Now that you mention it, I remember taking a pic of the league table just for a laugh. *sigh* what a magical season it's been Yeah I remember putting it on my Facebook page for the same reason. Crazy. As for Spurs' run in mentioned above, the only team they'll play with something to play for is potentially Newcastle whereas for us it's probably only Man Utd.
HighPeakFox Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 It's football, anything can still happen...........
