Standard of Women's football.

Postings of a child.

I think your the one being slightly childish if anything, very over defensive.

The women's game has massively improved since it first started getting air time, I don't think he has suggested otherwise. Goal keepers are still bad, he has a point. I often see more gk gaffs in a pro women's game than I do in a local men's game ignoring the very basement levels. It's a lot better than it was as it was so bad the game was actually comedic 8-10 years ago where as now it Is an alright level of football even if it is missing certain things the men's game has entertainment wise.

I actually think it's unfair to laugh at them losing to under 17s/16s. Men are so much more physically able in terms of stamana physicality and roar athletism and these lads aren't far away from being fully grown adult men.

Obviously the suggestion they should receive equal pay is out and out laughable.

It wasn't u17s or even U16s it was u15s most of the team were 14. A long way off being fully grown men. Physicality waa taken out of the equation and the end result were pretty humiliating for the women's game.

I'm all for equality but the refusal of feminists to accept that men are better than women in some areas (all in sport to be fair) are really off-putting which is a shame as I would be lot more sympathetic to their cause if they acknowledge this fact.  It is same with black people as I just feel they have unrealistic expectations.  I have met black people who wanted an equal representation of black/white people in high positions despite the fact there are more white people living in this country.

Of course you shouldn't compare men's sport to women's but when there's a constant whine about the disparity in pay then you have to, just to justify it. It's not like people aren't pushing for the women's game to become bigger. They show the FA Women's Super League on BT sport but it really is just difficult to watch. It was good to see the English women get so far in the World Cup, and in that tournament there were so some great moments of genuinely quality, but no one can deny that that isnt outweighed but constant moments that the male players would never be forgiven for.

The tennis argument is more interesting because the female tennis players are the biggest sport stars of their gender. Denis Stakhovsky would beat Serena Williams, but if more people want to watch Serena then of course she's more in-demand and she will rightly get paid more through ticket sales and sponsorship. Even Jersey Budd can probably hit higher notes than Justin Bieber, but as Finnegan said, it's about popularity and sponsorship. Like any field, that's what brings in money. Women don't bring 50% of the income and interest into sport, so why should they get it?

Article clearly states under 16s. If it's wrong fair enough that's hardly my fault.

Either they're unusually thick/militant or you've misunderstood them.

I work for the most politically correct employer in the region and here the focus is on having a workforce, from top to bottom, the matches the demographic - not that is a direct split between every colour people can come in.

Equal pay is only a good argument if it's equal in terms of income/output.

Men's footballers earn what they do because they bring in billions in sponsorship, television revenue, ticket sales and merchandise.

I agree that women should be paid equal to men in terms of % revenue or by number of viewers, that's just basic human decency.

But if by equal pay you mean having exactly the same wages, regardless of the fact you actually make less as a business, then that's obviously ludicrous.

I feel the same way about tennis. They should work out the prize money based on the number of people that tune in to watch. If that means Djokovic would win more than Murray but Murray would win more than Serena? So be it. It's fair for everyone.

With Tennis and Grand Slams viewing figures and attendance are for the event, which is a mixed event so it can't be split exactly based on gender, although the women only play 3 sets compared to the mens 5 sets a quick google of viewing figures shows that the peak audience for the 2015 Wimbledon women's final (4.3m) was less than half the peak for a men's final (9.2m). When you sell the rights though you sell it for the whole tournament.

Becky Sauerbrunn, Hope Solo and Carli Lloyd are threatening strike action

The USA women's football team - the reigning world champions - are threatening to go on strike over pay and could miss the Rio Olympics.

The team asked a federal judge to give them the green light to strike, with the Olympic Games just two months away.

The women argue that the gap in pay between them and the men's team is unfair and they are backed in their dispute by the US Senate, who on Thursday called on the United States Soccer Federation to "immediately end gender pay inequity and to treat all athletes with the respect and dignity those athletes deserve."

Lester Munston, a respected legal issues journalist, said: "If this case continues, if the dispute continues, then there is a probability that the greatest women's soccer team in the world will not be participating in the Olympics."

Richard Nichols, the players' union executive director, said that whilst they want to resolve the dispute with the USSF, the team are prepared to strike.

"We're going to reserve our rights to do whatever we need to do to affect equal pay," he said.

The women claim they are paid £2,400 to £3,380 per international, while their male counterparts receive £4,260 to £12,000.

The USA women are the world's No 1 team, winning the 2015 World Cup while the men are currently ranked 29 in the FIFA rankings.

If we are talking purely of the Olympics then the women compete in the same competitive circumstances as the men, in the same arenas which were sold out for London 2012 and the same format and the broadcast rights are the same.

If we are talking about the amount the men get paid to play in the World Cup, compared to the Women's World Cup then it is 2 separate tournaments with separate finances.

Yes, but I am not keen for an employer to recruit me because of my disability to match the demographic, I would just rather to be recruited for my ability alone.  Anyway, I think I am in danger of going off tangent so I'll shut up now :)
