reynard Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 If we really wanted this guy so much why on earth didn't we trigger his release clause when it was valid instead of waiting until it ceased. Strikes me that he was not our first choice and in the end we couldn't get our first choice by which time his release clause had elapsed. The longer this drags on the less likely it is to go through and the same for Silva. Which might mean we miss out completely on strengthening the squad. We really could use a couple more players.
