LCFC FOX Posted 11 June 2016 Posted 11 June 2016 People would actually go and watch the reserves play? Would seem so dead and pointless. Totally against this
foxile5 Posted 11 June 2016 Posted 11 June 2016 Why are the English DESPERATE to emulate the US. Wanky initialisms and franchise dominance. I'm ashamed of our country sometimes
Fox92 Posted 11 June 2016 Posted 11 June 2016 Uh oh. Good for promoting youth, shit for small clubs trying to get two pennies to rub together. They're just killing them off altogether now. Scrapping FA Cup replays which can be so vital for lower league clubs who need money. Owners have spoke before about how playing Manchester United or Liverpool can cover an entire season because of the money they make from that one game.
ian_marshall Posted 11 June 2016 Posted 11 June 2016 Where would the home games be held? I wouldn't want this having a negative impact on the playing surface at the KP but surely they can't play the games at the training ground due to away supporters right to attend games. Could we see these games being shipped out to a smaller ground within the local area?

I'd be massively in favour of all PL B teams playing all games away from home, with the home team taking 100% of the gate
AyewJoking Posted 11 June 2016 Posted 11 June 2016 i think the home games should be at forest. we need to keep our youngsters grounded by playing in shít stadiums.
Hollism Posted 11 June 2016 Posted 11 June 2016 Disgusting. Beyond disrespectful to the clubs in the lower leagues. If you were a fan of say, Plymouth Argyle, would you want to watch your team playing against Chelsea B? Nobody should want this.
foxes21 Posted 11 June 2016 Posted 11 June 2016 so disrespectful to the lower league clubs. There's also talks of a 5th division /league 3 too isn't there. Bet they will try fill it with premier league b teams making it even harder for the conference clubs when they get promoted.
davieG Posted 11 June 2016 Author Posted 11 June 2016 I think you're all missing an important point here the EFL clubs voted yes to this, well at least a majority must have done.
Guest Posted 11 June 2016 Posted 11 June 2016 I'd be massively in favour of all PL B teams playing all games away from home, with the home team taking 100% of the gate I agree with this. Presumably the only motive for PL clubs to enter is to give their reserves more competition. I'd go so far as to say, not only should PL clubs surrender profits and prize money, but also pay a modest annual entrance fee.

foxy boxing Posted 11 June 2016 Posted 11 June 2016 Premier league teams should have to pay to have b teams in the jps with the money split between fl1 and fl2 clubs if it is to happen
StanSP Posted 11 June 2016 Posted 11 June 2016 Premier league teams should have to pay to have b teams in the jps with the money split between fl1 and fl2 clubs if it is to happen I think the Premier League are contributing an extra £1m to the total prize-pot of the competition.
Wizerud Posted 11 June 2016 Posted 11 June 2016 It's the JPT. Even the lower league clubs don't give a shit about it as evidenced by their attendances. Some of them might prefer looking at Premier league teams u21's. Maybe they'll use it to scout someone for a possible loan deal. If the football league teams have agreed to it there's got to be something in it for them we are not considering or are not taking seriously enough.
