Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri reacts to Hull defeat

We just experienced the best season in the clubs history. Losing to Hull was a bitter reminder of seasons past and was hard to take. Don't panic folks, one loss doesn't mean we are suddenly going to go back to the bad old days. As hard as it is, I am preparing myself for a bit of a come down. Just hoping for top 8-6 and a good showing in Europe. Would love an FA cup run.

Last season was product of Pearson and Ranieri. One without the other would never have won us the league as we got the best of both worlds. The team building and spirit of a Pearson team with better tactics of Ranieri.

By far the best point made by anyone in response to my previous comment regarding NP/CR, and sums up exactly what I'm trying to say. Last season was a product of both NP and CR, but it concerns me that we seem to be moving away from the elements NP brought to the club, and as great as CR is, I don't think he would have won us the PL without the foundation put in place by NP.

The majority of magerial changes in football take place when a team is playing badly, NP was fired as we'd just started playing like champions, So there is no need to move away from what he put in place. Further more we will never no how much of CR did last season (defensive changes, tactics etc), actually came from NP - he could have started planning before he was fired. For all his inexperience, one thing NP showed on more than one occasion was, he learnt from previous mistakes. His downfall was probably due to the fact he wasnt able to apply this to the way he behaved at times in public.

Pearson let us all down by getting himself sacked - luckily we got Claudio in who bought many new things - and it is with Claudio we must move forward and face the future. However much Pearson's legacy may or may not have assisted us last year we have to move on.  He is now at derby - does any one want to start supporting Derby?

What concerns me is that he seems to think we can still play 442. We can't and I've been saying so since NK left.

I don't rate the orthodox 433 one jot but if we'd set up with Amartey behind the two CMs then we could have given the defence a bit more protection in the areas where Kante offered it. Playing with wider forwards would have stopped Musa and Vardy taking up positions too close to each other, and given Drinkwater more opportunities to play the first-time ball. It also would have allowed King to get a bit further forward and try to link up the play a bit more.

That said whilst we didn't look full of ideas going forward we missed some quality chances. We need to rebuild starting from the back now.

If we start against Arsenal with 2 in the middle we lose comfortably.

clearly playing in the champions cup affected us with all the travelling close to the start of the season and probably underestimating hull as well as playing poorly. we need to get with it as quickly as possible to stop the doubts setting in. we are not going to have as memorable season as last but we need to improve drastically or we will be an embarisment in the champions league

champions cup was a daft idea. but had to be done as part of increasing our profile. said profile won't count for much if we finish in the bottom half of the table, mind.

This time last season, and indeed into October, this forum was full of people calling for us to go back to 352 rather than continue 442.

Claudio is a vastly better tactician than Pearson, he can sort it out.
