Pokemon ZA is getting slated. Its actually quite a poor game. There are games from 20 years ago with better graphics than this. 

 

I wouldnt waste your money. Legends Arceus is a far better game.

 

The selection of games on the Switch 2 is pretty poor at the moment unfortunately. Though im hoping Metroid Prime will change that

Thank's for that! Was going to spend £40 odd on ZA tommorow for the switch(Lad is Pokemon mad......but more One Piece now)......i think i'll give a miss and get Arceus for him!

If you go into CEX you can pick up Arceus for i think its £35. Pokemon games always hold their value so not a bad price.

 

ZA isnt a terrible game, im enjoying it to a degree. I just think they could have done so much more. The side quests are unimaginitive. The battle system is just button spamming moves that are not on cooldown and the difficulty is non existent. You go through the game being told how amazing you are when you constantly fight people with like 2 pokemon vs your team of 6. Well no shit i expect to win every fight if that's the case  I think in the 20 hours ive played i have only fought like 3 people with 4 pokemon. Also the ranking system, ranking from Z - A, takes a real bullshit turn. The ranking system is what made me want to buy the game and they ruin it.

 

But maybe im just too old for Pokemon games now

the estore, would that be playable on Switch 2 when I eventually upgrade?

Yeah the Switch 1 version will work on the Switch 2

 

However you would need to buy the upgrade pack for about £10 I think to get the performance improvements

Went out and bought myself a Switch 2 with Pokémon and Mario Kart. Really nice bit of kit and I’m enjoying Pokémon so far

I'd really disagree on the side quests, going through those and they do all have anime episode vibes to them. They're all a bit short but the general structure is something I could see happening to ash in the between gym badges episodes. Combat though, it's a nice idea and I do like that the Legends games seem to be a trial ground to actually innovate Vs the usual turn based, but it is a bit clunky to control, and has some problems with hitboxing - competitive meta at the moment has too much Stunfisk because he's a flat pancake and hard to hit with a lot of attacks.

 

that said, it's the best Pokémon game simply because of Jacinthe. The children yearn for capricious Fae creatures and electroswing. The best battle theme they've done.

Bought EAFC26 for Switch 2 and it’s actually alright

So i have finished Metroid Prime 4. Ive been waiting years for this after absolutely loving MP3 Corruption on the Wii. 

 

Overall MP4 was good but not quite great. Visually its really nice but the level design was basic and too linear. Metroid is all about the big diverse map with interconnecting levels and having very little help in terms of direction. MP4 you cant get lost, NPCs direct you with where to go. Each level is branched off the central hub (being the desert) So there is no real exploring to do. The desert has very little to look at, which makes sense as it is a desert i suppose.

 

The arsenal of weapons i also felt was very basic. Fire, Ice and Thunder. These have been done to death. Would have been nice to have got something new.

 

Collecting these random green crystals in the desert is also boring with the final suit being an almost pointless thing to get. Previous games give a real sense of reward when you finally get the final suit but in this game there is no sense of achievement.

 

Boss fights were decent though i found that using your arsenal of weapons didnt really benefit you more than just spamming the shoot button with the regular cannon. The Damage Per Second i found i did more damage with the regular cannon. So didn't really end up using the missiles or the elemental weapons. Which made me think they were pointless having them. 

 

Puzzles were the standard Metroid style which were good.

 

Overall i still enjoyed the game. But i have no desire to try Hard Mode or getting 100% for the secret ending. I have already checked it on Youtube and to me its not worth the time or effort. 

 

Out of the 3D Metroid Games i would put my faves in order of

 

MP3 Corruption

MP1

MP4

MP2 (do not remember this game too much tbf so may deserve higher)

 

If you love the Metroid series then i would say MP4 is good but that's as far as it goes.

Pokemon Fire Red & Leaf Green releasing on nintendo estore this week. Despite playing the roms for free over the years, I probably will be paying £15 to have them on Switch.

Honestly, at the moment a pointless purchase. Should have just stuck to my Switch.

 

Currently i am away from home and took the Switch 2 with me. But i am finding myself playing Skyrim, Balatro and the N64 games. All of them i could have just easily played on the Switch

 

I brought Metroid Prime 4 - Game was ok but not the game i was truly hoping for. Pokemon Z-A was just meh. They have made the game far too simple. Mario Kart was good for all of a few hours. Then quickly got boring 

 

I am just finding the Switch 2 exclusive games to all be underwhelming. 

 

The only reason why i still have my Switch 2 is because i just know the moment i get rid of it they will announce the new Zelda. Which is up there as my all time favorite game series

 

Maybe i am just getting older and games are becoming more stale. I do like the look of Starfox though
