FLAN Posted 31 October 2016 Posted 31 October 2016 Bring in his tour to the Y theatre on 4 March 17 and then somewhere in Melton later that month. Booked my tickets. I think the last time I went there was to see Mark Lamaar do a stand up show which was about 20 years ago couldnt find a comedy thread so apologies if there is one (aside from 50% of the threads on the main forum)
Trav Le Bleu Posted 31 October 2016 Posted 31 October 2016 You seem confused. You thought this should go in a comedy thread?
stripeyfox Posted 31 October 2016 Posted 31 October 2016 Oh, have to take a look at that. I love Danny Baker. Really enjoy his saturday morning show. I know he's not everyone's cup of tea, and I didn't like him much when I was younger, but definately grown into him
Guest MattP Posted 1 November 2016 Posted 1 November 2016 Got a soft spot for Danny Baker, I'll probably go to this.
Captain... Posted 1 November 2016 Posted 1 November 2016 Always liked him since he stood up for us over that Mike Reed and Chelsea game. Even lost his job over it, but didn't care.
Izzy Posted 1 November 2016 Posted 1 November 2016 Always liked his 'sausage sandwich' game with ex pros on the radio. Red sauce, brown sauce, or no sauce at all? Always red sauce for me

stripeyfox Posted 1 November 2016 Posted 1 November 2016 Sausage Sandwich game is great, but for me red sauce (called Tomato Ketchup by adults) is only for peasants. I don't mind brown as long as it is HP, but to be honest, for me, if I have a sausage sandwich there can only be one condiment added and that is English Mustard.

I never realised Tomato Ketchup/red sauce was for peasants. You learn something every day on FT

Izzy Posted 1 November 2016 Posted 1 November 2016 Just now, stripeyfox said: Never to late to learn. Ketchup is for kids on their fish fingers. Grown ups have real sauce! Maybe it's because our kids have ketchup on everything so it's all we ever buy. Maybe I need add some HP brown sauce to the shopping list next week. It's been so long since I've tried it so I've probably forgotten how good it tastes

There's only one place that it's acceptable to lather mustard and it's in the bin.

Alf Bentley Posted 1 November 2016 Posted 1 November 2016 3 minutes ago, Webbo said: Only less biased. Well, I see myself as like Fox News - on a mission to provoke. Funny where old Danny Baker's ended up. I remember him as an NME journalist in my youth, in a motley crew including Julie Burchill, Tony Parsons, Paul Morley & Charles Shaar Murray.
Webbo Posted 1 November 2016 Posted 1 November 2016 I quite like Danny Baker, doesn't that himself too seriously.I enjoyed that sitcom based on his autobiography as well.

Cradle to the Grave? Coming back for 2nd series I think. Only criticism I could give it was Peter Kay's London accent.

Sausage and mustard made for each other, along with: Ham and mustard Pork chops and mustard Bacon and mustard Toad in the hole and mustard Beef and mustard to name but a few Of course, mustard can only be considered mustard if it is "English". French, German or American mustards are crap in comparison
Wortho Posted 2 November 2016 Posted 2 November 2016 Danny Baker's books are really funny. Well I thought so. Cradle to the Grave was entertaining as well. He is quite knowledgeable on most subjects and a fine writer.
