I think when it happened nearly 100 years ago it's definitely okay to sing it. it is more embarassing when we sing it to teams who have fans in the crowd old enough to remember them being crowned champions of England.
stevelcfc Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 Agreed, it's embarrassing now. Why can't we create our own original song about it? Can't wait till we sign this to Man City, Utd, Chelsea etc. Should be a right laugh.
Soar Fox Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 The more embarrassing song is "your city is blue your city is blue just like Leicester your city is blue"
Callabinho Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 I hate this chant....what a thing to sing when you're 1-2 down to a team who's own fans even hate them....
NZ_Foxile Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 After the game ended, the West Brom games were singing "Champions of England, you're having a laugh". I guess at that moment, the only response by our fans was to sing back at them "champions of England you'll never sing that", as it's probably true, and we'll always have that, regardless of a crappy loss to West Brom
Ted Maul Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 Can't we just change it to something like 'champions of England, we don't give a f**k' when we're losing? It's a bit embarrassing singing it to previous champions, and just gives them more ammo to take the mick when they've just beaten us.

We don't give a f**k We don't give a f**k Champions of England We don't give a f**k Much improved and probably fitting given the year we are looking likely to have
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 I have a dream today! I have a dream that one day we won't sing anything to the tune of Sloop John B.
Guest Lako42 Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 Christ we have some ignorant fans. Embarrassing stuff.
Lcfc_lass10 Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 So embarrassing. Walking down the stairs after the game yesterday in SK1 and these blokes thought they were hilarious for starting the song off. It wasn't until someone turned around & shouted "they've already won it mate." The look on their faces was brilliant
LJS Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 People sang it against Burnley as well. They've won it in what is living memory for many for ****'s sake. It's great that we can sing about being champions and we should make the most of it until our successors are crowned, but the lack of knowledge on display when singing songs like this one is a bit embarrassing.
Ollie93 Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 I understand this to an extent, but why are some fans embarrassed about your club, our club, being champions of England. It will probably never happen again, i'm going to milk it for all its worth.

They're embarrassed about how fvcking stupid it is to sing that particular song.

You do very occasionally get one that's so utterly dire it just makes you piss yourself though. "It's not rugby, take off your 'at" being the prime example. I mean, FFS.

Adding the totally inept geography in just makes it even more terrible.
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 Sit right in the middle of the singing leading. Whilst I strongly endorse it much can come across as really juvenile. Nothing new though i guess. Champions of England (Inc against Swansea !) is the new 'greatest team the world has ever seen.....' when losing.
Kitchandro Posted 7 November 2016 Posted 7 November 2016 The worst part about this is most of the people who sung it didn't get behind their team at all during the match. Same to those people who stood up and clapped along to the music at half time when the veterans came out. where's that sort of passion for your team? Muppets.
