Fox92 Posted 25 November 2016 Posted 25 November 2016 Not getting into the whole who was better than who but Gerrard was such a complete, box to box midfielder who was good in the air, could win the ball back, deliver good set pieces and score goals. Medals don't define great players - Shearer only has a league winners medal and Le Tissier has even less. Gerrard was one of my favourite footballers to watch as a neutral.
The People's Hero Posted 25 November 2016 Posted 25 November 2016 For the sake of balance, he was also guilty on many many occasions of trying to do it all himself and I think he bought in to the 'mr Liverpool/ one man team' hype. It's both a good quality and a bad one. He pulled them through many times but also was guilty of things like playing Hollywood balls and taking on difficult shots when more sensible options existed. Superb footballer though- no doubt at all.
ealingfox Posted 25 November 2016 Posted 25 November 2016 Suppose its never really been considered much but Mignolet's done shite there, its a woeful finish from that angle.

lgfualol Posted 25 November 2016 Posted 25 November 2016 Always liked SCHTEEVIE G but enjoyed the fact that his last major contribution was destroying his club's best chance at a Prem win.

GaelicFox Posted 25 November 2016 Posted 25 November 2016 Didn't he batter a DJ for not playing Phil Colin's in a bar
