ESPN Correspondent Posted 29 September 2005 Posted 29 September 2005 I don't want to sound like i'm getting too excited but this lad was hotter than some moody gear against us last season. The £25 ticket against Derby could well be worth it now, i've been dying to see us get a winger for 15 years. He's not allowed to play in the Carling cup I'm afraid.
Cobbo Posted 29 September 2005 Posted 29 September 2005 He's not allowed to play in the Carling cup I'm afraid. Because that's relevant ay!
Alexikokopops Posted 29 September 2005 Posted 29 September 2005 He's not allowed to play in the Carling cup I'm afraid. We're not playing Derby in the League Cup.
cisono Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 A cracking summary Leave me alone. I've had a tough day. That was all I could master at the time.
Ric Flair Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 Piper...? Aaaah I forgot about Matty Piper, by the sounds of it this lad could be just as good if not better. By the way, if you get sent off in a reserve match it doesn't effect the first team I don't think? Henderson got sent off for the ressies the other week and was shipped in to the first team for the cup game and the Brighton game.
cisono Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 Hey, is this smudger playing tomorrow? Apparently yes (see OS) Loan Deal Done Ryan SmithRyan Smith has today (Friday) completed his loan move to Leicester City and goes straight into the squad that will face Derby County at Pride Park on Saturday. The 18-year-old winger, who has been handed the number 21 shirt, arrived at the Walkers Stadium on Thusday afternoon and has signed in time to make his debut in the East Midlands derby clash - should he be selected. Smith, who is rated as one of the most sought after English wing prospects in the country, will initially remain with the Foxes until December 31 2005. source: Loan Deal Done
Cobbo Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 Number 21 ay, that used to be the legend that is Jase's number before he moved onto bigger and better things with 14.

Violent conduct and I think you are suspended for the first team for one game. However as he's apparently in the squad for tomorrow I guess that wasn't the case with his red card.
Louise Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 Ok, no-one get too excited but... City boss Craig Levein is keen on eventually making the deal permanent. The England Under-19 international has risen through the ranks at Highbury and Levein, impressed when he watched the youngster in action during a recent Premier Reserve League game, said: “He has tremendous pace and can play on either side. “He is held in very high regard with Arsenal but the loan spell which ends on January 1 is with a view to make it permanent if possible.†http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/details.asp?k...092005418602631
lookwhaticando Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 Ok, no-one get too excited but... Oh my. Well since I know almost nothing about the guy, 'cept we've loaned him, I won't get too excited til I hear or see him in action
lush Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 Oh my. Well since I know almost nothing about the guy, 'cept we've loaned him, I won't get too excited til I hear or see him in action Yeah me too. was tempted to change my team considering most of CL`s signings are good and smudger is arsol material, but like you say, need to see him as deep freeze is awful.
Ric Flair Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 Ok, no-one get too excited but... SWEET BABY JESUS
Ric Flair Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 Does anyone else think Levein is reading comics if he thinks there's a good chance we can get this lad permanently in January? You only have to read what Wenger says about the lad just last week to know he is highly rated there. Also at 18, he's very young and I doubt he's at the stage where he wants to move on to guaramtee first team football like perhaps some of their youngsters do at 20/21. Don't get me wrong, i'd be over the moon if we got him permanently but I wonder whether there is a possible agreement or not? Hat's off to the Dancing Queen Levein if it is true. He's here He's there He's every ****in where Ryan Smith Ryan Smith

The People's Hero Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 It's not just a case of whether Arsene would let the man leave but also, will the lad want to play for us on a permanent basis after his loan spell? I suppose if we start playing in a more attack minded style he might, but otherwise I seriously doubt it.
Mark Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 This kid is something special. Probably the most awsome talent to emerge out of our ranks. PLUS HE's A LOCAL LAD! Mark My words. I keep banging on about this: I saw him play against Rotherham in the CC and he was just amazing. ...although he is not physically ready as yet. My girlfriend and I also saw him on Blackstock road in the summer and he blatantly hasn't filled out enough. I seriously doubt that Wenger will sell him to the Foxes so that is just wishful thinking by them If he does I will then believe Wenger has something against English talent!! He's Going No-where and he will be a fantastic player so long as he gets some physical power and prowess. If he can obtain this I'm even tipping him for international call up when and if he breaks through in our first team as ther is no-one else like him.
SilverFox Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 What it all unfortunately means is that if he sets the team alight he unfortunately won't be staying! If hes god, I say we try to arrange some sort of pre contract agreement!

SilverFox Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 We aren't really in a position to worry about such things at the moment anyway!! The only thing that should be on our minds is getting wins and climbing away from what I like to call 'the forest zone' (sounds so much better than the relegation zone doesn't it? )
