First season he was below average and most wanted him dropped no I was not one. Championship party yes great then the great escape average. Last season top draw but so was the whole team. Then this season anyone that thinks he's been anywhere near average is having a joke. Numerous games without even a shot. Yes on fire against man city but one game is not a season. His game is limited pace and his finishing and that's it. He's not a Defoe that can make something from nothing. Most of his goals come from defence splitting passes that allow him to use his pace. When he ain't getting that service he can be a passenger. As he has been a lot this season.

In the purest sense of the word 'team', we achieved more than pretty much any other team in sporting history. Given the resocurces that the Olympic teams had, they were entitled to do well - granted they exceeded that a bit but their achievements were not at the same level as ours. Any other year and we would have walked it. Shame for Gary!

I don't even think we will get team of the year either, being the BBC they'd much sooner the women's hockey team, (diversity and all that) I'm waiting to be proven wrong though.
