Steve Walsh Snr.

Koeman's comments were very interesting. There must be a lot of friction there for him to publicly name someone like that. In those situations the manager usually gets backed and the DOF gets moved on.

Journalists, known for being super chaps with 100% integrity and no bitterness.

We're not saying they're nice, we're talking about Pearson.

Pat Murphy. That bloke he called an ostrich, the one he called a dick, Ian Stringer. I'm sure there are more but can we just accept he wasn't always a nice bloke to everyone?

Quote from Ostrich man

I actually like Nigel. Away from the media spotlight, he is engaging company, a real man-manager, intelligent guy and the players must love playing under him. I have a lot of time for him.

not saying he's not been a nice bloke, I'm saying people think he's a nice bloke. Big difference, everyone has off days.

And I'm saying what they think doesn't count for very much...

But it wasn't just them he thought his behaviour was poor.

When people talk about Pearson being nice they do it in the same way as people describe their neighbour as nice after it turns out the neighbour is a serial killer. You know, "we're shocked, he just seemed like a nice bloke, you'd never have thought he'd be capable of doing that to all those prostitutes"

There's a few journalists that might disagree.

Journalists are wankers. Why would we care what they think?

Look, he's a bit of a nutter at times but he's a moral bloke who wouldn't come out and slate his staff. Every disagreement he had he kept behind closed doors.

Sure - but it is they who you cited!

The point was , he isn't an especially nice person. Some people aren't. That's not to say he didn't do a good job as our manager but we don't have to pretend he was something he wasn't.

Pearson strikes me as the sort of person who hasn't got time for people acting like dickheads.

So he's not nice to dickheads, does that mean he's not a nice person?

Why is everyone so sensitive about this? There are countless examples of him being rude, arrogant and aggressive, why do we have to pretend he was a saint?

We're not talking about him being saint, we're talking about him being a nice person.

What examples are there of Pearson being unpleasant to someone who wasn't asking for it?

Bearing in mind journalists are always looking for a reaction.

time to get back on topic?.....Steve Walsh Snr according to the header. He did great work for us and found some major successes who had a great bearing on the destination of the Premier League Champions Trophy last season. I was sorry to see him go, I believe his motives for moving were honourable, would welcome him back with open arms, but not too sure how his relationship with CR would work out over a period of time.

Do one mate this is the sort of shit that people come out with because they can't look past anything more than DM headline. Anyone who comes into contact with him has always said he's a funny and engaging bloke. Wise up.

I heard from inside the club that people don't like him mate so I'm not sure that's correct.

It's a journalists job to ask questions, they're not asking to be called dick heads. It's part of his job to answer them. Strangling players on the touchline, telling fans to foad, the way he reacted when his son was sacked. You might think that all those people deserve to be spoken to like that but they're not the actions of a nice person.

Nice one norwichfox.................... I thought I was on a Bring back Pearson thread.

I quite liked Walsh and like Kante I was sad to see him go,

But now I've got Ndidi, Amartey, Mendy, Musa to concentrate on

I agree, I certainly wouldn't boo him nor call him a w@nker.

Whatever people think of Pearson, he can still derail a thread like no other..

I didn't like the way Walsh left but do appreciate his huge contribution to our progress.

Koeman is wholly disingenuous and is trying to deflect the blame for his ineffective coaching.

That's a very unusual thing to happen, he's likely feeling the stress of the ambitious demands of the new owner.

Think Everton have to realise how hard it is to compete with the very top clubs, even if you have money. If you think about Man City and PSG as recent examples, even they had to overspend on good but not great players like Robinho and Pastore and work their way up before being able to get real world class players.

Anyway Walsh was immense for us and responsible for bringing in many of the players that ended up becoming the immortals. He was brilliant for us and doesn't deserve the chants that were mentioned.
