We'll be worse off and the hard Brexiters still will be moaning. Edited 2 December 2017 by Guest
Guest Posted 2 December 2017 Posted 2 December 2017 (edited) Stuff like this is just divisive. As far as I can tell there are about 35 hard Brexit MPs. Quite why they're being given so much air time is a mystery to me. I can only assume the nation being poorer is somehow good for Murdoch's investments. Accusing those who don't agree with the hardest form of Brexit traitors is ridiculous and just stoking future civil unrest if the nutters don't get what they want. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/5044960/brexiteer-mps-compare-tory-rebels-to-nazi-collaborators-and-predict-they-will-end-up-blocking-our-eu-exit/ Edited 2 December 2017 by Guest

I just wish the government had the balls to put things through Parliament, so we can see who these all are.

I just wish the government had the balls to put things through Parliament, so we can see who these all are. Nobody is sabotaging anything. Brexiters have lost all sense of reason over this. The vast, vast majority of parliament were campaigning for remain. There is only a small core that believe Brexit is a good idea - and you know who they are. The rest are trying to do something they don't believe in but the idea that wanting proper oversight is an attempt to sabotage things is ridiculous and stupid. There is a core of remain mps who want a second referendum in the hope things can be stopped but to my mind they balance out the hard leavers. Besides, there is a world of difference between wanting the public to have MORE democracy and being an ideologue determined to take us down the toughest path no matter what pain it causes. I'm absolutely amazed that Brexiters have brushed off the fact that Brexiteer in chief, John Redwood, told his business chums that he had removed his investments from Britain and recommended they do the same soon after the vote. It's like one almighty stitch up and every time they get worried their short selling against Britain might be in danger they start talking about treasonous remoaners.
Strokes Posted 2 December 2017 Posted 2 December 2017 Why is John Redwood brexiteer in chief? I couldn’t have told you which side he was on until that article.

He's been arguing for Britain to leave the EU since before 'man of the people' Farage left his investment banker job.

GaelicFox Posted 2 December 2017 Posted 2 December 2017 (edited) Speaking to a senior political friend in ireland there is no appetite for a hard border and there is no way the Irish will allow Westminster to Carry on negotiations with the EU until the border question is settled , the risks are too great to all that live on the island of ireland Westminster has a long history of screwing the Irish over on “settle the finer points later” deals !!! this is going to be huge ..... May’s government will fall if she concedes to an Irish Sea solution , and she is likely to be removed by the Tory party as leader if she doesn’t start to deliver a deal people and her party can believe and trust. What happens over next 18 months is anyone’s guess but what is totally not happening is a hard brexit ! I suspect The UK will be staying in the common market and tax zone ! And I suspect that’s what May and The Eurocrats actually always wanted ! Edited 2 December 2017 by GaelicFox
Guest MattP Posted 2 December 2017 Posted 2 December 2017 The British government are never going to implement a hard border. If anything happens it will be done by the South or the EU. We've had the common travel area since the 1920's, absolutely no reason why that changes.

Dundalk will be the new Calais with immigrants queuing up to get into the land of milk and honey . Nope your 100% wrong this is Mays issue to solve and there will be NO brexit trade talks of any worth until the Irish border issue is solved and agreed. This is the conundrum the EU and pro-remain MPs have been waiting for
Guest MattP Posted 2 December 2017 Posted 2 December 2017 Nobody wants a border, which is why the whole thing is so ridiculous. How we are supposed to work out what we can do before trade is negotiated though? The DUP aren't going to vote through anything that would give NI a different status to the rest of the UK. If the Irish veto then so be it, it's hard Brexit, if Leo thinks he can force the UK to stay in the single market he is very much mistaken.

She will just keep conceding auld Teresa , Leo isn’t forcing anything , the Vast majority of MPs was to stay in the single market and so does the PM , this is all window dressing to ensure that the UK remains in the single market in the end that’s what the vast majority of people want , so with a bit of hard negotiating that’s what we will end up with read and watch Farage , he is very open he knows what’s coming it’s blindingly obvious , the money markets have also spotted the trend and the £ has rallied significantly in the last month or so

MP's wouldn't even vote for an amendment to keep us in the customs union, if the whole thing is a charade that falls down and sees us remaining under the jurisdiction of the ECJ, not able to discuss independent trade and still with open borders to the EU27 you'll see a political revolt like no other. There is no logical way I see parliament voting to keep us in the single market.
