Borrowing down - should hope so, it being the raison d'etre of this government. Personally I'd rather borrowing was up. You see, all these so called positives have a downside for ordinary people. I genuinely think wages falling is terrible news for the vast majority of ordinary people and reserve the right to consider that more important than a few business owners making a little bit of profit out of the collapse of the pound. Brexit might have some plus points. I don't think I've ever actually said on here which way I voted - with good reason. I'm not an ardent remainer by any stretch of the imagination. Brexit is causing uncertainty which is giving employers an excuse not to give pay rises (as well as not to offer training). At the same time the pound collapsing made everything we import more expensive. Combined they are causing real wages to fall. The pound has got a bit stronger again lately so maybe wages will finally begin to rise. But recent history tells us that the Tories will find a way to mess it up.
