I've loved watching darts for years on telly, had tickets a few times, one got cancelled and the other I had to drop out of so never actually experienced it live lol

Feeling a bit mixed at the minute as it's great how popular the sport has got, but every single event in the UK in 2025 is sold out already on the PDC site!

I'm sure the odd ticket will pop up here and there, but i'm gutted as wanted to make sure I got to a few in person this year.

I don't know if it's any help I signed up through PDC yesterday after going through the morningside arena website for the world grand prix in October.

Not the same thing I know but the Mattioli Arena does have dart nights. We are going in May and one of the matches is Humphries V Littler. Also check out MDA Promotions they do quite a few exibitions around the midlands

Used to play for my local pub. A few years back we were lucky enough to get a few pro's in for exhibition nights. I managed to beat Steve Beaton and Bob Anderson but lost to Phil Taylor. Still got a board set up at home but nowhere near as good now

What was your experience of being around them were they all open to talking etc? What was playing Taylor like?

The one in Leicester in October had loads of tickets left during the week it took place in. So just wait and they’ll come out. It’s only the big events that sellout.

I am hoping they may increase the number of players competing in the PL at some point.  Much as I love darts, when I see the same two players playing each other for what seems like the 1000th time it gets a bit stale.

Im going back 30-35 years so memories a bit vague. They were all really nice people and were happy to talk and have a laugh whilst playing and have photos taken etc.. I got a set of darts from Beaton for beating him. I still have them now but i dont use them as I think they are bent as they dont go where i throw them 🤣

Anyone been included in the PL this year you wish wasn't?

It feels ripe for expansion now, especially given current popularity. I guess the issue would be maybe having to split players over two nights, or even have players appearing at alternate nights?

There were rumours De Decker would get in to satisfy the Euro crowds but not made it this time.

I don't have an issue with any of the players chosen, just think they need to increase the pool.  Eight players for me are not enough to sustain excitement for a 17 week format.

Should have wild card's every week - ie. local favourite or player in form.

I like this, only problem is what are they competing for? Glory on the night? Also if they only get to play one or two players, is that fair on that player is it could impact their ability to make the overall final.

I guess either way you can understand how difficult it is to expand something like that without adding extra days or upsetting the balance.

It's just I have seen commonly used in certain sports which have a select field in series type competition. Speedway, rugby sevens come to mind.

The encouragement for the individual is money, the glory and effectively to create enough hype to make them an option for next year's PL circuit.

I wouldn't have a table/playoff system - I'd have a point system.

Maybe if you wanted to open it up, have 12 players? Players 5 to 12 have to play a qualifier in an afternoon session.

For me would rather they'd have replaced Price with someone else if I'm honest.

It's stale for TV but brilliant for the arena tour to see most of the big names in one night locally.

Jonny Clayton should have been in instead of Price going on the OOM.Price just moaned about the PL last year and missed a couple of nights due to an "injury" when he was near the bottom.

They did that when Ando dropped out and it was the best thing that they did..........Henderson in Glasgow,Dobey in Newcastle,Bunting in Liverpool.....brings a bit different to let's be fair a stale format.

I might have asked this question before but does anyone play in a pub league or similar?

I play regularly at home and use an app to measure statistics.

First 9 average is currently 49. No idea whether this would be well below standard. Taking doubles into account it drops to 41.

Would like to join a team or something as I generally enjoy it but don't want to embarrass myself.

I've always wondered this myself! As I wouldn't mind joining a team either.

As mentioned i used to play 30-35 years ago. We used to take averages until we got to below 100 points so working out the finish wasnt included. I would say the average average was around mid-late 40s. I would say you would be more than good enough to join a team if you are lucky enough to have any local leagues around you

Yet again the Darts providing the late weekend entertainment…nothing like it.

Although he’s miles ahead in ranking money and World number 1, I feel that was massive for Humphries to win that just to keep that self doubt away that he can struggle with at times, whilst letting others know that he’s still the Luke to beat
