420Hashish Posted 28 July 2017 Posted 28 July 2017 To everyone complaining about the purple bank as patch on the kits, stop whining. It matches the kits and I'll tell you why. As we all know, the patch is purple, which a lot of the supporters really dislike. But on the other sleeve, however, we have the PL badge, which is white and purple like the bank patch. So when the owners made the kit, they obviously took into account the PL badge's colors so they decided to make the bank patches the same colors in order for the kit to not look like a clown costume with 5000 different colors like French and South American team kits with the ads.
420Hashish Posted 28 July 2017 Author Posted 28 July 2017 I know I am going to get a lot of hate for this lmao.
Ricey Posted 28 July 2017 Posted 28 July 2017 The banks brand colour is purple. Total coincidence. Anyway, blame Puma, if it wasn't for that fugly gold pattern down the sleeve there wouldn't be a need for a purple background and the white letters could have been printed straight on the blue.

Don't care what's on the other sleeve of the shirt. That's irrelevant when you look at where the SCB sponsor is placed.
AyewJoking Posted 28 July 2017 Posted 28 July 2017 puma must be angry too. think of all the money they wasted on pritt stick and gold bubbles
Far Post Gerry Posted 28 July 2017 Posted 28 July 2017 SCB is the oldest bank in Thailand - they have 100 years of history. They were purple long before anyone even thought up the idea of the Premier League.
brucey Posted 28 July 2017 Posted 28 July 2017 purple is better than a lot of other colours... at least it's somewhere between blue and black (home and away shirts) so is less intrusive than, say, lime green
Foxhateram Posted 28 July 2017 Posted 28 July 2017 I reckon the Bank sponsor came about as a result of that court case our owners are involved in. The Thai government have demanded bank sponsorship/ media outlay as a tip off in the case.

I wouldn't be surprised, thought I read somewhere that the guy who is suing had some connection to the bank A purple rectangle on a shirt sleeve is a small price to pay in exchange for a 10m fee upfront + fringe benefits in a billion dollar lawsuit

irishfoxkev Posted 30 July 2017 Posted 30 July 2017 Slightly off topic but flicking thru stations last night and came across Man City vs Spurs in the International Champions Cup (remember that prestigious tournament we were in last pre season ?) Man City seemed to have 4 sponsors on their shirt..Usual Etihad on front , Nissan on 1 sleeve, Nexen Tires on the other and what looked like Abu Dhabi on the lower back..All were just plain print in dark blue so didn't look too bad against the light blue of the shirt...BTW Man City won 3. 0 but could and shud have been double that....Awesome going forward and made Spuds look very ordinary ??
