Flag hanging

Sincerely hope this isn't true. The Kop has come on leaps and bounds in the past few seasons and the addition of flags definitely adds character. Hope the club isn't going to succumb to advertisement over the fans.

? I suspect you would not get too much support for your views on this one.. You really need to take at a look at other foreign ownership models in the EPL & EFL to appreciate just how lucky we are. Hanging flags is most likely some pathetic  H&E directive and nothing to do with the Owners.

I see stuff like this so much on here that you'd think we're the only club with decent owners. But we're not; there are plenty of examples of good owners - plenty in the Premier League too.

The owners have obviously been superb for us but the advertising and branding of King Power is way over the top. Although I did say a few years back they probably want to make their brand big in the West and Leicester City doing well as a club helps them achieve that.

Always thought those plastic panels looked like a cheap carport roof  from B and Q.Looks like they ran out of cash at that point of the build.

They basically are. The original reason for them being clear was to allow added sunlight to the pitch as it rose and dropped past roof level.

Now we have  a part synthetic pitch this is not needed. And we also have the lighting rigs.

Think it’s clear to see that all those new blue panels will become advertising space for the season ahead... doesn’t like like Harj has managed to sell much though!

Its tough... anything is better than those plastic dirt covered panels but it shouldn’t come at the price of flags.

So why did you mention the owners in the first place if it's nothing to do with them?

The clear panels have been replaced by blue ones but there's no advertising on them. The advertising boards at the top of the stairs are still there as they've been for years.

Fair enough, not bothered about arguing the point. But looking at the photo I took last night they've been replaced by blue boards and staggered around those blue boards there are 3 brands I can make out. Singha, king power and air Asia.

So have they covered the wire they went to no expense installing, with panels?

Between each advertising board as I know them from your explanation.

I think you mean in the 'East'.

Suggest you read the post from fox92.  The clue is there.

Not sure what's happened to the wire but from what I know they've just replaced the clear panels with opaque blue ones.

Ah ok so not covered the existing clear ones an actual replacement. So in theory wire could still be there and used has ufs had any clarification they can get flags back up before brighton last I heard Gaz wasn't overly optimistic.

Advertising space will be down to the commercial team, not the owners. Like you said it's jobsworth stewards, it's got absolutely nothing to do with the owners at all.

Latest I heard it'll be fine. You know what they're like though they're likely to change their mind in the next fortnight lol

Ok cheers I'll send him a message see if he wants any help. If the wire is still the solution then we are gonna attempt to cable tie them all together in the hope it stops the sagging we had last season.

No I meant West. If King Power get big here - why wouldn't they want to try and get their brand in international airports over here.

Who mentioned the owners? Me or you?

I expected the new solid panels to have more prominent advertising meaning the club wouldn't permit the hanging of flags. Seems not.

Surprised the new blue pitch side isn't an advert fest. Perhaps not within the PL rules, or summat.

Not a fan of capital punishment, the flag would have had to have committed a serious offence for that kind of punishment......
