I'm just amazed that with Chamberlain going they haven't decided to scrap the format rebrand and try something new. There is so much scope for a laid back, Saturday morning TV show but Soccer AM as a brand is tarnished by the last 10 years of shite it has produced and will always suffer from having to stick to the format and style it created.

Helen's gone scrap all the on screen people, rebrand and start again. Make it more fan oriented get fans on to talk about their clubs, they know more and can say more than footballers trotting out the usual cliches.

Yeah definitely this. Tries too hard to be funny and fails miserably. That 'Fenners' is cringeworthy and Bullard is a massive lad wannabe

To be honest I have it on occasionally to catch the lower league and European goal roundups they do, it's still good for that in a more condensed format than having to watch a full highlights show.

I'm not really sure why they haven't moved the entire show to a facebook live format, would work much better for their audience, they show the majority of the sketches for saturday in the build up during the week on facebook anyway.

Who the fvck would watch a show presented by Jimmy Bullard. I know Soccer AM is shit anyway but how low can you sink.

RIP television.

Glad I went on the show in its heyday.

Found both Tim and Helen really nice people and Lovejoy was different away from the camera, much more like a manager sorting the next sequence during the breaks and almost doing a directing/presenting role. He had to fly out for the Milan derby straight after the show but was good enough to stick around for photos.

Helen was the exact same off screen as she was on screen, really friendly and up for a laugh. Fenners at the time did nearly all the comedy sketches - a really funny, nice guy. As were the rest of them.

Can see why people see Lovejoy as unbearable, his book was just arrogance personified. The show has been on life support for years now.

After my previous comment I’ve given the last two a watch.... I don’t think it’s meant to be taken seriously and the three lads are a decent enough laugh, it’s saturday morning sit there with a coffee and not take much notice fun.

Perhaps similar with some Hollywood capers that get absolutely panned, people just take it too seriously! I still think for the good of the show they should move it online to keep up with their core audience.

The fact is though if it wasn’t getting viewers it wouldn’t be on so there must be a good enough base out there.

I never loved this as much as Fantasy Football on BBC/ITV but it did have its moments and watched it for most of 2005/06. I dont know how its kept going as long as it has.

Even before it jumped the shark I couldn't stomach Tim Lovejoy.

This was spot on. Still a great read. http://www.wsc.co.uk/the-archive/42-Media/145-no-love-no-joy

lol  Lovejoy on Football is part autobiography, part witless musing, and one more triumph for the crass stupidity rapidly replacing culture in this country. Hopelessly banal and nauseatingly self-assured, smirkingly unfunny, it’s a £300 T-shirt, a piss-you-off ringtone, a YouTube clip of someone drinking their mate’s vomit. Its smugness is a corollary of its vacuity. I hope it makes you sick.
