Soccer AM presenter Helen Chamberlain is leaving her role on the football show after 22 years.

The Torquay United fan will be replaced by comedian Lloyd Griffith and former footballer Jimmy Bullard.

The news was shared by Soccer AM in a tweet which read: "Farewell and thank you to Mrs Soccer AM. This place won't be the same without you."

Chamberlain joined the Sky Sports show in 1995 and presented alongside Tim Lovejoy until he left in 2007.

She most recently co-hosted with John Fendley who will continue to present the show alongside its new hosts.

He paid tribute to his former colleague on Twitter, saying: "There's only one @HellsBellsy."

Was class when Lovejoy was on it and they didn't take it so serious. The sketches were good.

Now it's just shite.

As for Bullard, the less said the better, he's so annoying.

Have you watched it recently?! It's hardly serious tv aha.

I don't mind watching a bit of it when I'm tryna get some scran down me on a hungover Saturday morning. Disposable tv I don't need to concentrate on.

It's usually on before I'm going to a game but I don't sit and watch it.

The sketches used to be much better and the characters were much better too, that's what I was getting at.

I never loved this as much as Fantasy Football on BBC/ITV but it did have its moments and watched it for most of 2005/06. I dont know how its kept going as long as it has.

Even before it jumped the shark I couldn't stomach Tim Lovejoy.

This was spot on. Still a great read. http://www.wsc.co.uk/the-archive/42-Media/145-no-love-no-joy

now that was a TV show, wish they would bring it back with the original presenters.

the pele was shit sketch was awesome

Some brilliant sketches and clips alright.

I would say though that for all the 'bring it back' wishes when they did just that in 2004 for the Euros in Portugal that the series was quite patchy.

With the likes of 'classic youtube' and the guardian it's hard to imagine it working now.

That said it would have been interesting how they would have covered our story since we got promoted.Pearson, Vardy, Claudio etc.

Soccer AM has been poor in quality, in general, for a good few years.

I personally watched some just to watch the fans and 'celebrities' try and shoot in wall holes at the end.

Struggling to think of someone else, other than Bullard, who has a bigger ego on himself, not very funny despite him trying to be and offers little in terms of 'value' entertainment.

Not someone I'd prefer to be at the bar with, too predictable.

I've wondered that myself as well, you get the feeling they would have lapped it up.

David Squires' cartoons are about the closest thing to FFL in recent times for absurdity. Similar in tone to Spitting image aswell.

Must head over to the great comedy sketches topic on here. Was some belters on FFL.

TV on Friday nights from 1995-97 were memorable. FFL on BBC 2, Rising Damp on Channel 4, and then Prisoner Cell Block H over on ITV!

Basically this.

Its a fairly inoffensive, 'in the background' non groundbreaking TV which is usually only stuck on when there is nothing else on. The way some people are going on here is like they're replacing David Attenborough on Planet Earth or Danerys in GoT with Jimmy Bullard ffs.
