Crinklyfox Posted 17 August 2017 Posted 17 August 2017 After Allan Clarke left us in 1969 he became an England international in 1970.
Wymsey Posted 17 August 2017 Posted 17 August 2017 Business-wise, possibly Steve Howard? Or Phil Gilchrist, who (as from what I've heard) is a teacher at Ratcliffe College.
cc_star Posted 17 August 2017 Posted 17 August 2017 Not many youngsters have left us & gone on to better Lineker & Heskey's career arc surpassed us for sure & Shilton achieved the impossible, twice with Forest Kante left & went on to win the league something they'll be hard pushed to do any time soon if the current turmoil persists, but he won the league here too so it's not really better, in fact the achievement was far less notable - He also has NOT gone on to perform in the Champions League like we (mostly) did - So while we all know Kante's greatness, it's debatable whether he's gone on to better things, he's just currently at a bigger club. Lennon went on to win the lot... In Scotland though We've not really let any youngster slip through our net & go on to be Neymar though

He appears to have stagnated since his move to Rangers....

We'd just been relegated to League One, Stearman joined Wolves and then got promoted. McAuley - via Ipswich - has become a regular PL defender. I never understood Hume. Wanted to leave and went to Barnsley I'd rather have stayed at Leicester. They put gravy on your chips in Barnsley.

I'd add Ian Wilson, Couple of years at Everton and one in Turkish top flight! As for loanees, I'd go Kevin Campbell, (who I always wanted us to re-sign at some point) ! We'll kitson to a point but he did rub it in when he left. Then got smashed at Wembley.

Chico1958 Posted 17 August 2017 Posted 17 August 2017 Peter Rodrigues - Peter Shilton - Allan Clarke - Kramaric - Lineker - Heskey - Kante - Les Ferdinand - McLintock - McAllister - Alan Smith - Nish am I taking this to serious ? The ones that didn't make it which should have spring to mind John O'Neill - moved and broke his leg "sad"

On the player front....Didn't we 'bin off' Kevin Keegan after a trial ? We supposedly scouted Stanley Matthews when he was a lot younger and were not impressed....
