Tigers aren’t really a true reflection on the sport in general. Dan Cole is from Wigston, so was Martin Johnson. All the well known tigers legends are all from state school backgrounds. If you go down south, it’s a completely different situation. Most of Sale’s team yesterday too are either Saffa’s or Cheshire private school grads.

Tigers and Gloucester are pretty much an exception in terms of having a less elitist background.

My sisters husband played for Aston old Edwardians in Birmingham and my wife's brother (and my father in law back in the day) both played for Stoneygate. All state school educated, normal middle class blokes.

I grew up in Lutterworth and all the Lutterworth Rugby team were school mates of mine from the local secondary school.

Guess I've never really come across the private school/elitist rugby type in my time.

James O'Connor ear marked for a seasons contract at flyhalf, whilst steady & had a decent season resulting with a possible call up to face The Lions he’s not really someone to steer & kick on the new era so hopefully another younger 10 to also come in.

Yeah rugby in the midlands is very different to down south. In fact when you take into account the sport in wales and its valley roots, and rugby league in the north, you could say it’s only really the south that gives it that posh vibe.

therell be plenty of tweed in the Bath end on Saturday.

Looks like a Parling signing having looked at him 1st hand the past few seasons & sees a safe pair of hands.

He’ll be 35 when the season starts and he’s not really an out and out 10 more a utility back who’s played 10 must of the time but just 37% of his total appearances but will bring experience back after losing so much.

We then have a 34yr old Volavola who was this years 3rd back up before we hit the academy lads.

Going from Pollard and what could be potential 2024/25 champions (🤞) it doesn’t shout out we are looking to kick on next season domestically & in Europe and this will be our future style giving it’ll only be a years contract, it don’t look great.

Hopefully we still have an eye on a jewel in their prime who’ll be the starter but those rumours seem to have dried up Crowley or Umaga then Farrell, Anscombe even a return for Freddie Burns or his brother with the last 4 all much at the same ballpark age as O’Conner it’s looking like it might be a transitional season sadly.

Well here we go

last outings for Cole, Youngs ( plus Montoya and pollard)

can’t shake off the feeling that bath will be too quick - strong and physical -  maybe a bit like PSG were v inter

Yeah, I reckon Bath win by 10-12 points

Just hope Tigers play to their full potential and give them a good game.

P.S. What a brilliantly observed one minute silence. Could hear a pin drop.

Feels like Bath are trundling towards victory, despite them keeping on dropping the ball.

Not brilliantly impressed with the reffing of the breakdown and the scrum.

Impressed we held out for the ten mins

that pen is annoying

looks like it will come down to fitness as the second half progresses (which is unlikely to be good for us )

We’re hanging on a bit as it stands

bath were different gravy second half last week

Could easily have given smith a yellow and them a pen under the posts

Also gave the only 2 scrum pens when we were in the Bath 22. Strange the only time we infringe in the scrum is when we are near the Bath tryline. Last pen was blantly holding on, pen for us. Obano with a couple of borderline tackles too. Lots of 50, 50s butmost go against us, 7-1 pen count.

And he just gave against Woodward holding on when he was competing with the tackler on the floor - ridiculous

A game like this you can't afford to miss your pens

And we don’t appear to have any backs patterns when we have possession in their half - they definitely do

SUMMED UP WITH THAT ERROR  - been unimpressed by pollard since it was clear he was leaving.  Too many errors and uncharacteristic missed kicks

The ref may not be great, but we're looking out of condition compared to Bath and out of ideas other than try to defend;  we've so little possession. Bath have had so many handling errors if there's any luck going around, you could say we're getting it because this could be a 10-15 point win to Bath quite easily. Hope I've neatly reversed jinxed it, but I'm not optimistic.
