hope your safe buddy ?

Looks horrendous on the TV and the slow moving nature means that this could rapidly turn into a serious risk to human life with all the flooding

keep safe chap

the airport scene is very very scary !

That doesn't look like George Bush International to me, unlikely to have that many Delta aircraft for a start. Skyline looks more like New York as well, didn't think Houston had that many towers.

Edit: Turns out it is indeed a fake, or more a mock up of La Guardia in 2100 if sea levels rise by 25 feet.

Thanks bud, thankfully, that is not really the airport!! We have had some craziness here. Some pics of an elevated restaurant about half a mile from us that's on the bayou. My wife has been constantly working since Sunday as she manages the marketing and social media for some apartment communities.  They had their parking garages flooded, and the water had to go over 12ft walls and 3ft thick storm doors.  Scary stuff.  Our house is thankfully safe at the moment but the wind and mainly rain keeps coming.  Lots of people are really suffering though and nice to think my extended Leicester family are thinking of me, and other folks in Houston.

It does kind of look like the Houston skyline actually, had to do a double take as we have some pretty tall buildings downtown and also in the Galleria area.

It came up on twitter. I wasn't sure if it was genuine.

Is this the worst it's been in Houston for flooding?  I remember a few (15 - 20) years ago I was on a flight to Houston and we were diverted to Minneapolis when bad weather hit Houston during the flight and the airport flooded.  Airport was still flooded the next day but I got there by a flight to Dallas and a cross-country road trip.  Happy days and there was no sign of general flooding when I arrived.

This is the worst by far. We've had 3 "500 year floods" in the last 3 years now.

We used to live in the apartments I've circled and it's on a two lane each way plus one lane on either side of that between the apartment and the bayou. There is also 3 lane each way in the other side of the river. Just for reference, the bayou is normally about 15-20 feet below street level. We live about 1 mile from the pic.

Interesting article if anyone is interested in some of the science etc... https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/2017/8/28/16211392/100-500-year-flood-meaning
