FoxesDeb Posted 16 September 2017 Posted 16 September 2017 Has anyone been? I find myself with a day to kill in Manchester next week and I didn't know this existed. Walking round the Trafford centre for hours really doesn't appeal so while looking for things to do I found this. I've only ever visited Manchester before on match day so I've not seen any of the city itself.
Sambiasso Posted 16 September 2017 Posted 16 September 2017 Didn't know about this place, even better that it's free to Has decent reviews on Google If you do go let us know what it's like.
Stadt Posted 16 September 2017 Posted 16 September 2017 Not very useful to you at all but the German Football museum in Dortmund is brilliant

Loads of memorabilia, old & recent.Near to the City centre. Will be the best day out in Manchester since we did City 3-1.
Parafox Posted 16 September 2017 Posted 16 September 2017 I went a couple of years ago while my daughter was at a One Direction gig at the Etihad. I found it a bit dull TBH. Lots of old stuff about the history of English and international football in which England have been involved, the 66 World Cup and some replica trophies from the past. You'll need about 2 hrs to skip through and longer if you're really into reading everything about the exhibits. I'd rather have watched One Direction, but go and judge for yourself. If you aren't restricted by time or driving, there's some excellent pubs in the city centre. Advantage is that it's free and if it's raining in Manchester, which is highly likely, then you can go somewhere to shelter. Better to visit the Coronation set but that means advanced booking and a timed ticket.

Just seen there's an Imperial War Museum so I might go there instead, always wanted to go to the one in London but never have. I would have loved to have gone to the Corrie set but it's closed now
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 16 September 2017 Posted 16 September 2017 It's okay. Lots of donated memorabilia, couple of things related to Leicester. Nothing you wouldn't already know if you've read any kind of basic history of the sport. Last time I went I popped in just to look at a replica of the Premier League trophy with our ribbons on.

kushiro Posted 16 September 2017 Posted 16 September 2017 They have these two trophies on display. CosbehFox Posted 18 September 2017 Posted 18 September 2017 Personally I think its pretty good. Nothing to do with me lifting the Premier League trophy there
