This is the club who paid £45mil for Slimani and Musa dealing with a side that gets £60mil for Oscar. It's like a negotiating Germany v San Marino lol

Yeah, we've been absolutely schooled since we started trying to do business with bigger clubs.

Their backroom staff have years of experience at the top level, whereas we've got our old academy manager from when we were in League 1 in charge.

I don't think Chelsea are going to sell him anytime soon are they?

I know everyone will be pissed off if there isn't one. But the max it will have been if we have is probably 20%

£18 million will probably only fund half a player next season.....

And with any transfer probably being split over a few years.... it's pretty pointless to worry about the affect it could have on us.

Half a shit one maybe

Isn't it 20% of the profit not the actual fee, so £12m rather than £18m?

Either way as a premier league club in 2017 it's not worth worrying about.

Either way it's at least 10% or so of the TV money that we receive, so somewhat larger than 'look after the pennies and the pounds ....'.

Amazed at how many on here think we shouldn't be bothered about 12, 18 or even 20 million.

I certainly don't think we shouldn't be bothered about it, I just think in the grand scheme of things and considering it wouldn't really affect our spending budget, it's probably not worth getting too upset over receiving £12 million quid split over three or four years....

Yep Silva’s wages and the legal costs accrued on this matter thus far are a mere fraction of our recruitment outlay.   In all cases money well spent?
