Btw. At least he looks like he's worked in football before, even if it happened to be in a football-related crime series...

Some say it's Harold, taken from "hallowed be thy name", others say Holy. Apparently been around for a long time.

He looks like a character out of Open All Hours

Nah! Could you imagine someone speaking in a combination of French and Yorkshire?

Not that you ever have a genuine South Yorkshire accent on Open All Hours!

WTF is going on in here then? I'm clearly not drunk enough yet to understand. Maybe I'll reread a bit later on!

I would hope you aren't drunk enough yet! It's only 10.58!

Then again, with your performance on Superbru, I could understand you wanting to forget..

lol

In the Superbru app go to the performance section and paste your results and achievements over the past few years - then we'll compare if you like?

I welcome this appointment.

i like Appleton, I really do, and he hasn’t done anything to warrant getting the sack. But I do feel personally that a manager needs freedom, and that includes control over backroom staff.

the thought of appointing a manager and dictating who is their number 2 just seems wrong to me if we want the manager to perform to his best, we need to surround him with the staff that he feels he works best with.

I can't see Appleton staying for much longer which, for me, would be a loss. He has the confidence of the players and won the 2 games he was in charge. As Puel has worked with Plancque previously I can see Appleton getting sidelined. I don't see how 2 assistants can work, but what is certain, Appleton's influence/authority will be undermined. It cannot be good for the stability of the club and players - 2 assistants will have different views, styles of training.  Appleton sees himself as a PL manager in the future - It seems likely to me he will consider his best option would be if he gets an offer to manage a Championship club. His previous record must make him attractive to a Championship club.
