2 things, 1 give Puel some time to get to grips with the squad and a transfer window to plug the gaps. We need to be better at defending set pieces but we were missing Fuchs, Simpson and Iborra who are an improvement on Dragovic, Chilwell and King at defending set pieces.

Secondly these results have annoyed me more because we didn't go full strength against Man City, who have now drawn Bristol City and the easiest route to the final. That could have been us.

I don't understand why all managers, even those that have never managed in England before, are immediately indoctrinated into the cult of not taking trophies seriously. By the time the quarter final came about we had had some good results and didn't look like going down. Why not go for it?

The reason the Man City match was a total failure was because that Man City reserve team wasn’t that great and yet we played our reserves instead of trying to win a trophy.

Resting players looks pretty stupid doesn't it, after you gain only 1 point from the next 3 games.

Puel made a league cup final and got sacked though.

Didnt seem to matter to the southampton board for his job, so might be a reason he views getting a solid league position more highly

As brilliant as it was to win the league, things will never be the same again. If it hadn't happened, being 8th, having just drawn with one set of Mancs and taken their noisy neighbours to penalties, would be seen as success.

It's like we sold our soul to the Devil to experience one glorious season, and the price is eternal dissatisfaction.

you got the last word wrong, it should be bliss

Don’t mind losing, as we are nothing special, with a defence that cannot defend set pieces, so I know we are not good enough to win every game.

What I can’t take is defeats like palace and Watford, not because we are better than them, but the total lack of effort.

Give 100% I don’t care if we lose, as long as I feel they gave their best.

I must admit, I lost the buzz a bit once we secured safety last season, and that carried on into this season under Shakespeare.

Puel has brought it back though- maybe because we have a mildly realistic chance of European qualification, and we are playing some cracking football in patches.

For me, it's a case of seeing the football for what it is- a regular day out with my mates. We're Leicester, so the football will often be boring or infuriating, but moments like that Maguire equaliser against United make it all worthwhile- I celebrated that as wildly as I've ever celebrated a goal at Filbert Way, including the title and champions league runs.

A bit harsh to say the least.

A couple of mistakes and one or two players under-performing (most notably, Chilwell), but no lack of effort.

Talking in general, palace game especially there was a lack of effort, and the Watford game, albrighton has come out and said that they was comfortable, and took it easy, and then couldn’t get going again, so I don’t think my comments are harsh.

Since the start of EPL (1992), only the following clubs have won more major trophies than us.

Man utd

Arsenal

Chelsea

Liverpool

Man City

Yep since 1992 we the 6th most successful club in england, pretty damn good.

So I am happy, but there is nothing wrong with ambition and a club no matter how big or small should always strive to win something.

Bear in mind that article is before we won the EPL.

So we are a Top 6 Team ??  Cool.

I get upset over losses to teams we should beat - but not upset enough to forget about all the good things we've seen.

But he did not get sacked for finishing 8th neither,
