Peterborough was brilliant, I think the year we got promoted, 4000+ 3000 steaming ?

Was that the year they had to keep asking over the tannoy for us to spread out as the middle was too packed? Proper rammed that day. Posh is deffo a good day out the loss of the terrace is a dampener for me but reckon I would go anyway.

The look on the faces of those travelling to Stansted on the train is always priceless as it arrives at Leicester station as is the look of those meltonians as well as they realise they are getting in the luggage racks if they want to get on as we head through melton lol

My abiding memory from that day is people just pissing everywhere at the back of the stand and the stewards stopping absolutely no one.

I guess, granted, if I was female I may not have found it quite so funny.

Peterborough was bloody awful, quite how nobody died amazes me. Tiny exits, piss all crowd management, the crush was ridiculous. Possibly one of my all-time least favourite terraces.

People look back on standing on terraces with some sort of nostalgia...as though it was a brilliant thing to do.

It wasn't always, I can assure you.......

If the atmos in the ground was rocking, then standing could add to it. You could jump up, stand and sing (much better than sitting and singing) and there was the surge when you scored (which is something 'safe standing' would stop, I presume?)

If the atmosphere in the ground wasn't good, then standing was shite. You often couldn't see sod all, it was painful if you had any sort of bad back, twinge, felt like crap etc. People just used to piss up the terraces cos they couldn't get to the bogs, such that a nice stream of piss would fall down the terrace like a waterfall. You used to have to fight your way through to get a tea/pie/etc...

It had its positives and it's negatives...but it certainly wasn't all good like people would have you believe.

People look at all sorts of things with a nostalgic view. Is that a bad thing? The Woolworths pick and mix. The pop man.

Is the world a better place without them?

Think the problem with football is we have gone to far the other way. All seater stadiums have created a great environment for families to attend and make policing games much easier.

However like most things we have learnt lessons and technology has moved on.

I don't  believe for one minute we will ever see a return to pens, barriers and fences and nor would I expect us too. But the resitance from the authorities to allow safe standing/rail seating at the top level baffles me. I think for those that want it and genuinely feel it will enhance their matchday experience, is there any harm in letting them have the option?

I think in our instance it would be an excellent addition to the SK1 corner. It will allow those that are already standing to do so in a safer not organised manner. With the reduction in space needed per rail seat, give a slightly raised capacity without the cost of expansion and if trailed in that area would not block anyone's  sight lines from the east stand or kop.

If successful we could then expand but incorporate a 2 tier stand behind the goal for example that allowed a lower tier to stand and those wishing not to to be housed in the upper tier.

The lack of pressure from all clubs who effectively breach their safety certificate week in week out on the premier league and government staggers me at times. Not sure if they are afraid of offending the offended. Or what but I would bet if United managed to get it in the stretford end, Liverpool would be quick to consult fans on reintroduction in the kop and then most clubs would follow suit.

As for all your negatives yes I know it wasn't all a bed of roses, but as I say we live in 2018 and isn't it a little odd we don't have a choice over how we wish to view top flight football.

Think you need a different hobby if you enjoy wading through a river of piss, fighting and people chucking flares about.

Ill have a sensible discussion about safe standing by all means, but its a thinly veiled argument by some, like you, to return football to a dark age literally no one wants to go to, in the vain hope safe standing might bring back utter chaos.

My last trip to Peterborough on the train will forever be remembered for a train which was a 1 hour late getting absolutely invaded by Leicester; the doors wouldn't work and all hell broke loose with the coppers absolutely s**tting themselves. Once I managed to get on the train, I had Bernie for company.

Peterborough away. Carp game but brilliant when we scored (Kingy?). People went everywhere.

The stand had 3-4k in it, 4 urinals and a sink. I made the sink number 5 ?. Shit facilities! I dont think they wanted to spend any money on portaloos which they should have done.

Glad I went though. One of the better decisions I have made.

Went to Griffin Park for their game against villa a few hours after our Watford game last month.

Their terrace was fantastic. The social aspect was great, when I say that I mean the ability to move between steps and talk to various people when needed.

The atmosphere was great in there as well, although they were beating villa which probably helped ?

That might be why me and my mates ticket didnt work. They couldnt let us through the turnstiles. I had a rant at them telling them the club will be paying for my expenses etc. They then told us to walk onto the pitch via the corner (gap in the stands) and to climb over the hoardings into the stand when we wanted to...
