Id also want it possible to identify people so people like the complete dick that shouted at livermore at west ham could be removed and banned forever.

Theyre what you make of it in any situation. Its not like youd be sitting in a seat anyway is it lets be honest.

Id just prefer not to return to old antiquated facilities.

Fleetwood's terrace was built, I think, in the last 10 years. Lower and non-league clubs are building perfectly good modern standing areas all the time. You think clubs are just going to make something look and feel like the seventies for the hell of it?

In the age of phones, CCTV in stadiums and cops filming away ends all the time, this isn't exactly hard. Plus, it's not like people go to their allocated seat all the time at present anyway - so being on a terrace makes it no easier or harder to ID people.

You could deck them i suppose?

What do you want to do to force people to sing?

And this is coming from someone who does sing.

I get that there’s an element to our support who would love to stand and if it truly is SAFE Standing then I don’t have an issue with that.

I do remember standing in the 80’s though  and my memories of it aren’t all great, open terraces, crap facilities, fences, crumbling poorly maintained terraces etc, but then the way football supporters were treated in general back then left a lot to be desired. On the other hand the behaviour of football supporters at times wasn’t that great either.

Standing on a manky bit of concrete is absolute shit.

Just another "down with modern football" nonsense kids come out with.

Like watching a game in a complete dosshole is what we should revert back to.

You're living up to your name

Clubs have more money than ever now so it'd be different. Clubs, even at lower level, are building modern and safe stands - even standing terraces. In fact I'm pretty sure it's Shrewsbury who are going into safe standing?

The amount of home standing areas exist still anyway, just not on a 'proper terrace' obviously. The Holte End, Stretford End and the Kop at Anfield all have large proportions of people who stand.

The best terrace I have been in was Peterborough over the last few years. Unfortunately that has now been demolished and replaced with seating

Wasn't a co-incidence that the terrace was always rammed with away fans.

Shrewsbury are planning a rail seating area, with crush barriers on each row, which is slightly different to Fleetwood's more open terrace.

The atmosphere and goal celebrations are both much better on terraces.

Hadn't really thought about the talking thing but it probably is a more pro-social setting. When you're in a seat you're a bit more 'fixed' in one position.

Why would you want to talk to someone anyway lol

But even if you do I find being able to nudge a couple of my mates out the way whilst standing much easier than shouting across 4 people when sat down and I want to make a point to someone not directly either side of me.

Aware you didn't make the original point tho.

Apart from the shite game, I enjoyed going there last time, seeing waggy blast it over the bar from 10 yards out in the last minute being 2-1 down ?

Doesn’t really narrow them years down to be fair.
