Although now getting on a bit i really enjoyed getting back to standing on a proper terrace that was made for just that. sh#te game and atmosphere spoilt it a bit, Last time we stood i think was at Peterborough 6 or 7 years ago, lots of chatty fans there seems to be more communication on a terrace than when in seats.

I watch Pompey on occasions and last season League 2 really was a timewarp. I revisited some of the grounds that I hadn't been for years (that still exist) - grassroots football and not a plastic glory hunter in sight.

I want a football stadium like this:

(Buffalo Bills Wild West Show, Disneyland Paris)

Beer and chicken wings brought to your seat (with it's own table).

That's what I'm talking about!

Yeah but instead you would get served a dried out grey burger and bovril down the KP.

I enjoyed the terrace back in the day. Had some great times. Really, really amazing when goals went in and you ended up miles away from where you were.

Wouldn't want to go back to it now though....

Standing on a manky bit of concrete is absolute shit.

Just another "down with modern football" nonsense kids come out with.

Like watching a game in a complete dosshole is what we should revert back to.

Comfort and luxury aren't things that I feel I need at a football match, other things are more important.

Ive been on loads of terraces.

Ones with fencing in front of the goal. Ones with rusty crush bars. Ones with shallow steps providing a shit view, ones with so many people of them youre like a fvcking sardine in a tin..... none of which enhanced my match experience.

If youre blaming a plastic seat on your inability to speak to someone during a game thats ridiculous.

Weird thing to infer from his comment.

Never had any problem with any modern terrace I've stood on. No one's forcing you to stand on one if you don't want to. All about choice.

The atmosphere and goal celebrations are both much better on terraces.

Hadn't really thought about the talking thing but it probably is a more pro-social setting. When you're in a seat you're a bit more 'fixed' in one position.

You can't beat standing on a terrace. You've got no one moaning that you're in their seat and they've paid for it so they want to sit in that exact one. Groups can form where they want and generally when an end is stood, it generates atmosphere.

Theyre what you make of it in any situation. Its not like youd be sitting in a seat anyway is it lets be honest.

Id just prefer not to return to old antiquated facilities.

Wrexham have got quite a big one looking from watching a game on television.

Although we may not play them for years.

It's been closed for years though, pending a demolition and replacement that probably won't be done until they're back in the Football League.

Looks great full though. It's the largest terrace remaining in the English football pyramid.

But surely you see a choice is the way forward?

Seats are simply dangerous when people are standing in them and a goal is scored. Terracing in Germany isn’t anything like it was. The Allianz Arena is one of the smartest stadiums in the world and it has a section for terracing.

Id certainly not be against safe standing.

I remember away games a while ago there was a glut of idiot fan reactions that were unbelieveably over the top for goals where people were literally jumping into people deliberately to be an absolute dickhead.

So if its complete dickhead proof then brilliant.
