Since winning the Premier we have spent a fortune on players who besides 2 or 3 exceptions have either looked completely out of their depth or have not been given a decent run in the team, and yet these players come with decent pedigree, good reputations and arrive to much supporter excitement.

Is our scouting network to blame? Do new players struggle to fit in with the old guard?

Weve wasted a whole lot of money.

The longer this bollocks goes on the more I become suspicious that players like Morgan, Simpson and the old useless bunch just make life difficult for new guys. Only a theory I’d like to point out :)

Do they have decent pedigree though, the ones that fail that is.

Most have not played in a top European league.  Ricky van Wolfswinkel was evidence of ever any was needed that a decent goal scoring record in SCP colours does not mean you can do it in the PL for example.

Iborra baffles me, he does have pedigree, was playing well for us before getting dropped, and is now struggling to get a kick. Unless it has something to do with the ongoing case of match fixing which I doubt.

Slimani, Nacho, Silva, Iborra (as you mentioned)  Kapustka, all come with a good pedigree and should of strengthened our first 11 and yet all seem to be struggling or have already left, the others like Musa, and Mendy have just been a total mess waste of money.

Its an interesting one

The messiah aka Steve Walsh disliked at Everton

Currently we don't seem to have a coherent recruitment policy including Puel

For two seasons we didn' strengthen at centre half

Now no real right back cover

Sorry but dear old Mr Ruskin seems a liability

I really date the owners but we're not progressing as we should

I'm starting to get this feeling also. I think it's more to do with our setup than the actual new recruits. Players like Silva and Iborra and Nacho wouldn't be sniffed at by many other clubs in the prem...it just seems to be us with players having poor starts when they arrive. Strange one.

It’s the post winning the league players.

as rightly expected people wouldn’t take kindly to being dropped after they have a medal round their neck

You do have a point. We do have more failures in recruitment than successes. What is the actual role of Rudkin? Foes he do the recruiting on the basis of wishes from the manager, the owners of what he sees fit?  Or is there some other way around? Or is it a third "solution"? We seem to have problems integrating players both on and off the field - a cardinal sin for every cooperation hiring staff. Normally there would be a plan for employement. Both as to the role the new person is going to fill and not least an introduction plan that makes the new recruits function (and payback ASAP). Not here. We seem to recruit and leave players to sort themselves out.

So even though we can blame individuals in the organisation - individuals that seem to be able to ride the wave whatever happens - there is a deeper problem within the organisation of LCFC that needs to be solved. Firing the manager won´t help - fixing the basic problem whatever that may be will/should.

Simpson who got dropped today and Morgan who is club captain?

Puel has dropped/rotated/rested everyone except Kasper, Vardy, Maguire and Ndidi.

There is no hidden agenda we just aren’t clicking at the moment, Puel is trying to mix it up bring in new players and different formations. Unfortunately Silva and Nacho haven’t looked like the players we thought we signed. Personally I think we have been badly missing Okazaki. Recruitment hasn’t been great but on paper we have a good strong squad with 2 players for every position in reality we have a team struggling for consistency and identity. It’s frustrating but I hope it will click soon and we finish this season strongly.

It’s hard to buy really proven talent that’s definitely going to improve your squad when you’re already in the ‘best of the rest’ premier league bracket. Chances are a player with proven ability is going to have his eye on a move to a top-6 club and not see much point moving to Leicester. So you’re left scrapping for youngsters who might come good (Ndidi, Iheanacho, Maguire, Kappy etc) and older players who aren’t much better than what you’ve already got (Iborra, Silva, Slimani etc).

It ain’t easy. If it was then clubs like ours would break into the top-6 and stay there all the time. In reality, not one team has broken into the top-6 and stayed there without completely reinventing themselves with billions of pounds worth of oil money since... well since when? It hasn’t happened for a long long time.

Our big chance was summer 2016 and Walsh/Ranieri screwed it up. Now we’re just a run of the mill premier league club capable of attracting run of the mill players and that’s about it.

I've shunned the player power argument all along but I'm starting to think there's something in it to be honest.

Our recruitment is scattergun, so no surprise the odd one is good but the majority are pound for pound poor signings.
