Absolutely perfect day at Tree House. If you ever have a reason to be in New England, it’s a must visit. Their cans are great, but even better on draft.0FC674E8-75DD-4BFB-AC4C-8A2EB4C80FD5.thumb.jpeg.88360972d368a13caef91d936cb31c59.jpeg

Very jealous.

Do Greene King have anything decent/ original round there? Can't stand them normally. Run the worst pubs in the UK and have sold out to dodgy owners.

Was surprisingly impressed with the Greene King gaffs when I did a Stag in Cambridge.

Sorry I was a bit drunk when I posted this.

My parents were in Bury a couple of weeks ago and I think went to a good pub, will ask them.

Match report from the weekend

Stoke Newington - pre match

Jolly Butchers - had a good name, but zero atmosphere, barmen banter of the lowest form. Wasn’t impressed

Auld Shiellagh - The Devonshire before it came along. Superb

Kentish Town - post match

Southampton Arms - excellent as always.

The Pineapple - good crowd in here, hidden away, a strange format but the beers deduct some points.

Sunday

(combined with dinner) - The Plimsoll Finsbury Park. Quite simply 10/10 grub. A burger sent from heaven, pasta from the kings. Steady Rolling Man on tap. Bit of celeb spotting. Welcome to heaven.

Queens Head, X Cross - lovely pint of light bulb to kill some time.

A real winner of a weekend which has reignited the need to continue awaydays.

Scored very high on the MTWG B.B.B.B scale. Brunette, Bob haircut, Boots and Beer

My local in Ashby today had removed all photos of “dog of the month” and have also put warnings up saying “dogs are not allowed in any carpeted areas”. Looks like they must’ve been taken over. Absolute idiots, every other pub here is very dog friendly so they are only affecting their own custom.

Queens Head one of my favourites down there man, I love it. Whatever Redemption they have on cask is only £3.60 n all! Love the Pineapple as well, shame to see it wasn't at it with the beers this weekend

Jolly Butchers long been on my list but never been, disappointed to hear it scored low on the Cosbeh scale. Never really explored Stoke Newington!

What a scale the BBBB is by the way, I'll say it until I'm blue in the face

Down there myself next weekend with @Tilley ex of this parish playing the Clerkenwell/Angel/Islington hits, then back down a couple of weeks after that where I think I'll tick a few newuns off

Didn’t get chance to do the Axe in Stoke Newington as decided on the second pint of G Soup. It’s an Earl of Essex sister pub.

Maybe I got Jolly B at a bad time as we were first in and that’s always an awkward drink.

Next London swig is looking like Brentford away. Not a huge fan of the options out west.

Was delighted to hear that Stormbird of South London (been a very long time since I’ve been there) direction has a pub in Bromley, which is the final one of the 92 I need

Yeah man, proper keen to give their new one up Highgate a go, all the Graceland jobs I've been in are corkers, the pair in Bethnal Green phenomenal.

I went to the Express Tavern right near Brentford last month and the beer choice was great, think they're linked to Big Smoke in some capacity. Black Dog only a bit further away tucked in some residential, not as vast a beer choice but she's an indie and I thought it was very tidy

Sounds like a dog has curled one out in the carpeted area and the owner has taken umbrage

This place is class, had no idea it was this big. Buzzing too which is good to see.

We went there earlier this year for the first time as it's basically on our doorstep. Great place and great beers, I liked the lager too.

Round here we see Thornbridge a lot but I like to see them in pubs when I'm around the Country. I had no idea how big they were until I visited.

Yeah I was very impressed with it. The pizza looked really good and will definitely have to go back for an afternoon.

Looking forward to going there after I run the Monsal half marathon at end of month.
