Have I missed it being mentioned but Lineker posted a shot of the owners Wikipedia page and it turns out it was not his birthday, not even close to the day.

Granted it could have been a Wikipedia edit.

VERY strange to celebrate a birthday two months early.

Could be something to do with this?

Just let him celebrate his birthday whenever he wants ffs, it's not like he's a Nigerian footballer.

The flag was embarrassing enough without the spelling without the spelling mistake.

The irony of that not being a mistake and not intentional isn't lost on me looking back at it.

Hopefully this will be the end of the over-the-top celebrations for a birthday.

Yes, I know I'll be inundated with "they give us free stuff, they won the league, they're amazing" but really, we don't need it any more.

Agreed!

I don't mind showing some appreciation towards them. I remember there being a minute's applause for them when we played Reading at home a few years ago after they cleared out the debt and that was justified because it was a fantastic thing that they did for the club. The applause also meant something because it was organised by the fans, whereas these banners/fireworks are just some people trying to get a promotion.
