Seriously though, you'd expect Brazil to be more comfortable playing against a central American team. I expect them to get the job done

You would expect wouldn’t you ?

that said I really hope this is an exciting game

Famous last words but I expect it to be entertaining. If Costa Rica can somehow sneak a lead Brazil will be under serious pressure. I'm a romantic I suppose (football wise at least) so I hope they go through. The Brazil team I watched at the 82 World cup sold me on them forever. Shame they play far more efficiently these days but winning is everything I suppose.

Yes that 82 Brazil World Cup team was amazing, not defensively but on offensively was something that was a joy to watch and utterly spellbinding

I'm hoping Brazil don't go the way of Argentina. Neymar needs to realise that, unlike 2014, he has got teammates he can rely on to score goals and create chances. In the Switzerland game he was trying to much, holding onto the ball too long and disrupting Brazil's flow. If they don't get a win today they are in big trouble because I think Serbia will be their toughest test in this group.

I will be cheering Brazil on like crazy today if I am honest, always have been my second team after England at every World Cup since I can remember (1974 just about, 1978 definately and 1982 Brazil were just amazing)

I'm with you there. When I was a kid I only really cared about Brazil and Ronaldo. It wasn't until after the 2002 World Cup that I started to take a wider interest in football. While I'm not as fanatical about Brazil as I was during the Ronaldo years, I'm still a big fan and always support them.

That's only part of the truth.

The other fact is that Behrami took out Neymar's attacking threat very early on, tackling him, staying on his toes whenever possible, which made it very hard for Neymar to get into his game.

That was a genius move by Petkovic.

That's not a huge problem in itself, as long as Neymar moves the ball quickly to Coutinho and Jesus. Problem was he was holding onto the ball too long and inviting fouls from Switzerland. He doesn't have to be a one man army anymore.

Neymar has to be one of the least likeable players at the tournament.

He's on the deck more than Shinji ffs.

He is getting fouled a fair bit though Finners, that said he is also making the most of some challenges

What the hell is wrong with these 2?

Replay shows the ball categorically hadn’t crossed the byline - Hoddle ‘I think it just went out’

Defender heads it out for a corner to stop Jesus scoring at the back post - Tyldelsley ‘Interesting he was considered to be interfering with play there, the ball hadn’t reached him’.
