Yes. He's a great footballer, as is Messi, as is Ronaldo.

Do people not get bored of making the same stupid judgements every major tournament when X big name player doesn't win it single handedly?

Yeah, let's ignore the fact he's ludicrously gifted and has won champions leagues and domestic titles left right and center and call him shit because his national team - which plays a handful of games every year - isn't stacked with world class players.

How have people still not learned that in 2018 the team is way more powerful than the individual? Its why so many games are low scoring and defensive now because how compact and organised and together you are is more significant than ever.

The flip side of that is the individual is less significant than ever.

People talk about Ronaldo carrying Portugal in the euros but that's hugely unfair. They also had a ridiculously solid, compact, defensive, hard to beat team that were going to shit house their way through whatever it took.

Argentina and Brazil don't have that and judging Messi and Neymar for that is simply stupid.

Did I call him shit by the way? A most ludicrously over the top response.

Neymar was fouled (made the most of it) and that should of been a penalty

There's a good replay angle (that you might not be seeing) that shows that the defender didnt even grab and hold onto neymar. His hand just brushes down his shirt and Neymar jerks backward with his arms flailing.

I thought that initially but looks more like the defenders hand brushed against him instead of a grab of the shirt. Neymar should have carried on.

If that’s the case then fair play

He was touched by the player which happens all the time it's whether the hands on was sufficient to push him over which determines it and it clearly wasn't sufficient.
