Shit faced

Is 10 weeks in nick normal for failing to provide a breath sample?  I think he would have provided one if he had known he was going to get a stretch if he didn't.  Or has he got previous?

I don't think he thought he was above the law, even though the judge said as much.  Just doing what I imagine a lot of people in his position have tried to do - stall it long enough in the hope he could squeak under the legal limit.

He was probably still over the limit when he was released from prison. He must have been more p!ssed than he looked if he thought he was ever getting anywhere near the limit.

Yes.  I don't doubt this.

His options (& others in the same situation) are pretty limited.  It's an act of desperation.

Either them or probably where Andy Gray and Richard Keys went after their own controversies imo.

He's an absolute cvnt. Bad enough to be behind the wheel after drinking. But none of us is perfect and an error or judgement can be forgiven in some circumstance if he had faced up to his actions and took the rap. But trying to worm out of it, stalling for time, waiting for a lawyer to try and get off on some tehnicalilty makes him a cvnt of the higest order.

The punishment for driving offences really needs looking at, and has done for a while, as it really doesn't match the crime.

You can kill a person driving way above the speed limit, 3 times over the drink drive limit, and without insurance and only receive a custodial sentence of around 5-7 years.

TalkSport won't hasten to take him back though, I'm sure. He'll hardly be the first current employee of theirs with a criminal history - Micky Quinn, Jim White, Alan Brazil etc.

They unveiled their star pundit signing ahead of the start of the season - convicted drink driver Trevor Sinclair.
