A mate of mine years ago took a punch to the face in similar circumstances :D

When Kane was here on loan, granted he was a bit dog poo for us, but some bloke booed him when he came on as a sub. He scored what I think was an equaliser and my mate turned to the bloke and smugly remarked that he wasn't booing anymore. So the bloke lamped him.  Some people

I had a very similar incident at Palace away (Sousa's first game in charge i seem to remember) when some guy decided to boo DJ (offside) Campbell's every touch which was made all the sweeter when he scored and i promptly rubbed it in his face (still lost though).  He didn't lamp me but i could tell he'd have loved to have wiped the grin off my face if only he'd had another pint before the game.

suppose he got the last laugh, what with Campbell turning out to be toilet n'all....

Genuinely quite frightening that that happened. Just proves that you never know what sort of unhinged morons you’re sat next to at the match.

It is a bit worrying that these people exist really. If that was me I'd just laugh it off and make some remark about how I knew it would always happen really, not that I'm ever too harsh on any of our players, more joke about how Kelechi was gonna change the game for us on Sunday then gloat about how I was right and wasn't be sarcastic at all

Some bloke had a go at me for calling the ref a **** once, and told me to mind my language. Needless to say every time he joined in with a chant that contained any swearing I reminded him that bad language would not be tolerated :jump:

A few years ago a lad I sat next to, who was quite animated but in a good way you'd expect at a football match, had the bloke sat in front of him turn round and told him to be a bit quieter and not shout so much. We ripped him for the rest of the game. Genuinely when the whole south stand would start singing or anything, we stood up and told everyone to be quiet because the bloke in front of us didn't like the noise :D

Never seen anyone look quite so sheepish

As a kid at Filbert St I learned a valuable early lesson in human nature.

2 ladies sat behind me & my old man in the corner of the old Double Decker. Dressed from head to toe in blue and white, they'd dole out tea from their thermoses and be unfailingly positive about the team however we were playing (this was the early 60s, so mostly we were pretty good). They were friendly, funny and clearly having a great time.

In contrast there were a couple of old geezers who probably remembered Channy and who spluttered and wheezed through their Woodbines slagging everybody off. Miserable as sin.

Made me think maybe if you cut people some slack and think positively about things it seemed that life became much more enjoyable. The two miserable old bleeders certainly looked as if they hadn't had a good time since about 1928.

Ever since I've tried to think the best about people.

Does it work?

Not really...

(Just kidding - actually it works a treat).

Ha ha. My mate said he would eat his hat if Nacho actually scored the winner when he came on. I took great delight in asking "red sauce, brown sauce or no sauce at all" several time over the remainder of the evening.

There was someone in the match thread who said he will eat his own shit if Nacho scores. Haven't seen him posting since. I hope he didn't get food poisoning

He's taking diacalm syrup intravenously and can't get to his PC for the next day or two...

Nonsense, these moaning sort of people are wankers in real life too.

Also the sort of people who write complaints to Ofcom because Nicole Scherzinger was wearing a skimpy outfit, or I'm a celebrity had a conversation about Santa that ruined christmas and that 2 blokes performed a dance together on strictly or they got a bounty 2 days in a row from their celebrations advent calendar.

On very few occasions in life is there cause to truly moan about something, some people just gets kicks from complaining 😂

Yeah but i was genuinely traumatised by the john lewis xmas ad. How could everyone be so heartless and cruel to the poor little dragon. I have written to them seeking compensation for PTSD i suffered and my therapists bills
