That’s the verdict of Hamza Choudhury, who said the players’ willingness to work for each other inspires confidence in the squad. That was particularly helpful when City beat West Ham on Saturday, with Choudhury one of several players to come in to the starting line-up after a few months as a substitute. The 22-year-old said Rodgers has been keeping everybody in the loop, whether they have been starters, subs, or in the case of his midfield partner Papy Mendy, out of the squad. “The gaffer has values,” Choudhury said. “We’ve had meetings about them. One of them is that nobody is bigger than the badge, so when you work hard for each other and for the badge, it comes together. “Everyone works hard, not just for themselves but for each other, so when you know you’ve got team-mates running just as hard for you, then you know they’ve got your back and you go into the game with full confidence. “Everyone’s got the same messages [from the manager] and everyone feels a part of it and that’s so important. That’s why we get the results when he does make changes. “Even when you’re not playing, you don’t feel like you’re not involved. It’s like a little family. He added: “Papy works hard in training, like we all do. When you’re not playing, it can get you down. “But the manager keeps everyone involved and he came out and performed like that. “It was a really good feeling.” The win at West Ham means City are in second place heading into the new year. While there may be surprise among outsiders at that fact, it not does shock Choudhury. “With the squad of players we have, no [I’m not surprised at City’s standing],” he said. “The manager has come in and has given us orders quite directly, we’ve taken it on board and gelled together as a team. “We have intensity and energy, and the way we play, the style of football we play, what the gaffer has done for us as a team has been so helpful. “I feel like over the next couple of years, we’re just trying to improve and become a really good club.”
AKCJ Posted 31 December 2019 Posted 31 December 2019 One thing I noticed a few weeks ago. You know that video that got posted of the players mobbing Iheanacho when he got the winner against Everton. There was something written on the floor that I couldn't make out. I assume it was some sort of motto. Anyone know?

StanSP Posted 31 December 2019 Posted 31 December 2019 Great to hear but I think it's something we knew for a while, perhaps intensified since Mahrez and Maguire departures. It's also clear to see and emphasises by the reaction to Iheanacho's goal.
