LCFC most famous 11

Bit bored, so thought I’d have a go at writing down our most world recognised starting 11. Just a bit of fun, for debate. Not much criteria, just the 11 through out our history which are regarded as being ‘house hold names’. Here’s my attempt:

4-3-1-2

Banks

Kåmark Keown Evans Fuchs

Mancini Kante Cambiasso

Mahrez

Vardy Lineker

Posted

Schmeichel

Simpson

Huth

Morgan

Fuchs

Albrighton

Kante

Drinkwater

Mahrez

Okazaki

Vardy

So, for example, does anyone really think Danny Drinkwater is more of a household name (globally) than Roberto Mancini or Esteban Cambiasso?......The answer is no. 5/10 for effort

Some great shouts there! Good call on Kane, whilst keeping Lineker and Vardy

Russel Osman - Of Escape to Victory fame instead of Keown.

Frank McLintock Captain of Arsenals Double winning team of 1969/70 agian instead of Keown.

Keown should never be included in any positive LCFC team he was a disgrace to the blue shirt.

Agree to an extent, quite a famous name though

I guess it depends on your age but McLintock As Captain of a double winning team that Keown played beats it for me as does 'film star' Osman

Arthur Chandler & Arthur Rowley need to be included. If you don't know who they are, google them.

If that many people have to google them then surely they aren't for this team lol

Are you saying folk don't know the history of their Club? Just to remind you and others we've been going since 1884!!

It’s not that, Facecloth is merely pointing out that those names are not household global stars, as per the (admittedly very loose) criteria

I'd have thought Manchester United captain, Harry Maguire, is more well known than any of the centre backs already named? :dunno:

Probably right

The two I mentioned were household names and stars in their day. You have only to look at their records unlike the "one season wonders" some have listed.

But that's not what he's asking. Cambiasso has won pretty much everything at club level, played in Spain, England and italy, for his national side.

I bet hardly anyone outside the UK knows the 2 you have mentioned.

Leicester Legends of the game yes. But I'm guessing not so well know in Argentina or Italy for example.
