I do understand why people are going in at the state of the wicket but surely the weather has played a massive part?

I mean it could have been an absolute road but with dark clouds, humidity and rain hanging around then surely wickets were likely to tumble at a serious rate?

I prefer games where bowlers are slightly on top but some of the uneven bounce was impossible for anyone to deal with.

There was a stat on TMS earlier about the one Bethell got being the lowest bounce of any wicket-taking ball in a Test in England since ball tracking records began.

It's a good competition, but not necessarily a good test match. The pitch isn't ideal to say the least. I also tend towards bowlers, but that ball to Bethell was a big bowl of wrong. The groundsman would have felt like shit after that.

This is where cricket on fast forward is a benefit, it would have to chuck it down for 3 days for their not to be a result.

Going to my first test match at headingly in August, praying its not a day like this one.
