A lot to like about Gay but think he needs to find a couple more scoring shots. Doesn't give it away though and has shown good temperament.

James Rew has looked good but should be out.

Agreed. On the highlights it looks like a hybrid version of Cook and Sibley.

I like his application but does need a few more scoring options to go to the next level.

Need the tail to wag a bit.

Well played Gay but a costly run out too and we were second best.

Stokes to return as captain for the third test apparently.

I don’t really understand why he was out after the curfew when others had gone back to the hotel apparently.

Was there an issue with the security or night club Stokes wanted to sort out probably totally forgetting the rules in place and as the captain lead by example?

I'd back this England team to chase anything under 300 and likely half of all things up to 350 in these conditions, so it's just going to come down to how many runs the bowlers will have to play with to keep the target to that amount.

Well it will take drastic new zealand collapse to stop them winning this one.

New zealand back to what they do best, consistent and reliable, with lots of skill too and taking the chances they didn't do at Lords.

And it looks like it won't be many.

Jeez that would've been nasty without the grill.

Why do bowlers just want to hurt other bowlers lol seem to lose interest in taking wickets.

O'Rourke looks a good bowler but hes a grumpy looking bastard.

All it took was one failed ramp shot from Fisher to make new zealand change tactics.

I can't believe they changed their whole approach based on that ball.

It used to be etiquette that you didn't target the head of bowlers batting for the other team in that way because if you did, they would respond in kind.

I wonder what Fisher will do if he is bowling to O'Rourke later?

Didn't they do it to Jamieson first?

No idea, if they did it does show why doing it in the first instance isn't a good idea.

Great last stand by the tenth wicket pair, this.

Yeah he got hit on the helmet twice in quick succession amongst some general short stand.

Now that is the mockers lol

291ao. Great resilience from Fisher there though.

The Oval has pretty much given up - crowd noise is zero

It's a great sight in the sunshine but games in London are just fans enjoying a day at the cricket. Result is not that important.

Bit like our fans on a matchday.
